But he uses the word “proportionate” twice because he’s a bit angry that Catholic just war theory which has some influence and which says uses of defense must be “proportionate” has gotten in his way at times. the issue is not Bolton the issue is Iran is waging a war against us and killing our soldiers. You use Bolton to say no, when someone is killing american troops.

Yes it might be, may have gotten that confused with the north (2.7 million enlisted).

Although you have to remember the border states added perhaps another 1.5 million population and many fought for the south. Maybe more like 1.5 million counting the Border states.
