Hiring a good appellate attorney has been made much easier with all of the briefs and opinions online. Hopefully Trump’s team does a thorough review of prospective attorneys before a hiring decision is made.
“ Hiring appellate counsel is common. The appellate world is markedly different from litigation.”

BINGO! Appeals litigation requires a unique skill set if you want the best results.
The original allegation, that an actual rape took place, is still in doubt. The circumstances that were supposed to have been surrounding the alleged rape behavior are strangely muddled, as to time and the immediate specifics, neither of which the “victim” could accurately describe. Yet Trump was charged with and convicted on these allegations, only because of a bill of attainder signed by Governor Kathy Hochul of New York, yet another highly partisan Democrat Socialist.
E. Jean Carroll is in the same nutcase class as Rosie O’Donnell.
I call it a court system, not a justice system. I’ve seen a lot of questionable and corrupt stuff in my experience as an attorney.
Alina is needed for more pressing issues. This is “back burner” stuff for now.
Of course Newspeak wants to make it look like it’s a ship of fools.
Is Alan Dershowitz still active, maybe Trump should hire him.
Quote: “There is a lot of spin out there. Hiring appellate counsel is common. The appellate world is markedly different from litigation.”
Thank you for speaking sense. For one, you need your trial counsel focused on the ongoing trials and not the appeals. Two, the trial counsel makes the record, the appeals counsel learns to live with it and make it into art. It is a different world.
Agreeing with posters above, it’s common to criticize (within the bounds of professional courtesy) the strategy or tactics of the trial court attorneys. If that happens here, I am pretty sure the trial attorney team will pay it little attention. In criminal appeals, it’s almost malpractice to NOT claim “ineffective counsel” as one ground of appeal.
Needs one with bigger t*ts
That happens a lot, because you go with the lawyers that have had more experience and success with appeals. Claus von Bülow hired Alan Dershowitz to appeal the 30 year prison sentence for the attempted murder convictions of his wife. He had been tried on two charges. von Bülow was granted a second trial where he was found not guilty of all charges, and walked out of court a free man.
Calm down Fido. Go find your chewy toy, and lay down
They specifically changed the law just so they could go after Trump with this case.
This is total horse puckey. I’ve filed many appeals. Appeals are done by Appeals Lawyers. Example: You don’t hire a plumber to fix an electrical problem.
No wonder Newsweek once sold for 1 dollar.
That’s what I said. I employed the modifier “much,” and you employed the modifier “plenty.”
As we used to say back in the day: Same same.
With this judge and his lap dog jurors (essentially), I don’t
think there’s an attorney alive that could have warded this
outcome off.
This was the ultimat4e Kangaroo Court > IMO.
$11 for “REPUTATIONAL REPAIR ?????
THERE ISN’T ENOUGH $$$ ANYWHERE FOR THAT TRAMP TO GET A GOOD REPUTATION.
Appeals court could order a new one. Not all that uncommon.
