“you do know that a lot of the water to LA comes from the ownens valley and the colorado river.”

Yeah, I just started at the northern beginning of the aqueduct. The water from Owens Valley is the main source going to the three reservoirs that feed LA from the north. The other, Lake Shasta is the one used to feed Bakersfield.

And yes, the main source of drinking water for LA comes from Lake Powell on the Colorado along with the Glenn Canyon Damn. And both have been low for a few years.

The four dams being removed are Copco No. 1, Copco No. 2, Iron Gate, and JC Boyle. The verdict is still up in the air on that move as the Klamath hasn’t been supporting water for the agriculture and they have had to cut back on irrigation killing the fields they were using for crops like alfalfa, cattle fodder. Now it’s weeds with the state saying it’s an emergency move. And it is normal for the salmon to stay in the river until they get the rains so the fish can get back to the streams and Creeks. If the rains don’t support them, they will spawn much lower than they actually came from and it will be harder for the local tribes to fish. So are they supporting the fish or not?

“no lake shasta does not send water to bakersfield.”

I’m afraid they do. And I was posting about the northern water flow.

“Built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the CVP transports water from Lake Shasta in the north to Bakersfield in the southern San Joaquin Valley.”

https://water.ca.gov/water-basics/the-california-water-system#:~:text=Central%20Valley%20Project&text=Built%20by%20the%20U.S.%20Bureau,the%20southern%20San%20Joaquin%20Valley.

Only part of the water Bakersfield has is coming from the Isabella Lake. To recap, Bakersfield’s other water sources—and their share of the water supply—include:

Groundwater wells (36%)
The State Water Project/California Aqueduct (26%)
The Kern River (20%)
Federal Water Projects (12%)

https://www.raynewater.com/blog/where-does-bakersfield-get-its-water/#:~:text=Since%20most%20of%20Bakersfield‘s%20water,reservoirs%2C%20and%20the%20water%20table.

So even though the area gets it’s main water source through ground water wells, they receive a lot of water, more, from the northern lakes like Shasta.

lake Shasta releases water in to the Sacramento river and that flows south to the delta. you even seen the california aquduct along the I5 lots and lots of nothing no farming from santa nelly south. along H99 lots of farming as the western sierra’s rivers flow west during snow melt supplying the AG rich valley with water and recharging the ground water.

Ha my bad :p
As a username it’s viable. As a company name, it’s ridiculous.
