.........he (and his father) can be expelled and declared “persona non grata”.........

Thx.

We need to make sure that happens.

In other news Nikki Haley demanded assassinating the Israeli Prime Minister as retaliation.

(ok—fake news—I admit it)

;-)

Expel the entire family. Allow the boy to leave the country - on a flight to Tehran.

Of course, I always thought that the Americans should have waived diplomatic immunity for the spy that killed the guy in England and sent her back to serve time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Harry_Dunn

Nice find———Low-level consular officials do not normally get diplomatic immunity.

Miami-Dade State Attorney:“...After receiving confirmation from the State Department, Office of Foreign Missions, that neither the defendant nor his father have diplomatic immunity, we are proceeding as usual with our investigation.”

Back in the day, the German diplomats were the worst. Hands down.

Back in the day, when I was living in NYC, there were recurring news stories about law-breaking diplomats. Always, they were Africans or Arabs. I don't recall ever reading about a German.

No, she fled. She wasn’t sent back home. It probably did impair her career as a spy. Link to Wikipedia in my post at 22.

“first ‘news’ stories are increasingly inaccurate”

Ha! That’s the understatement of the week. LoL!

I remember a few months ago a car exploded at the US Canada border and it was reported for a day or two that it was a “terrorist attack”......As it turned out it was nothing of the sort.

Fact checking and accuracy in news reporting is all but dead.

"Fact checking and accuracy in news reporting is all but dead."

It sure seems that way at times. We'll worry about the facts later, just get the story out there so we'll be first.

That might be why he is crying in his mug shot. He knew.

“We’ll worry about the facts later, just get the story out there so we’ll be first”

And that is very dangerous......to the point it may get someone killed one day.....if it hasn’t already.

They'll work it out, consular officials generally don't have immunity. What the kid said is irrelevant. He's being arraigned, so prosecution is proceeding, but could be stopped at some point on instructions from State. He would have begun his military service at 18 for 2 years, so he probably has an exemption. Aside from religious exemptions Israel has exemptions for physical and mental conditions. Service can also be deferred for various reasons, maybe his dad's position qualifies. Kind of stupid for the son of a political appointee not to report though. Can't help dad's career.

How “back” in the day? My Great Aunt worked at the German Embassy in DC until the outbreak of WWII.

Put this guy in jail and he’ll be passed around before his daddy can arrange his immediate release.
