Won’t work but it’s a start. All illegals aren’t criminals. The strategic way would be to begin arresting their employers. Employ an illegal, didn’t use E-check, a fine, a substantial fine or potentially jail depending on the number of employees. That will never fly with the GOP. But we don’t need a new law, just enforce existing ones. Don’t even think President Trump will go there, though it would work.

E check errors or good fake id that passed, the employer is off the hook but the employee is still deported.

Is there any other country with a major political party which HATES ITS CITIZENS as much as the US?

(but I know, your Senator is a RINO, so you’ll let the Democrat win - you know, to ‘teach the GOP a lesson’)

wow! they can’t just be deported because they are illegally here?

Have to wait til they break other laws and maybe harm or kill others?

are they able to deport those already in jails for drug or alcohol offenses?

But yet, the DemocRATS are all for allowing illegals to own and possess firearms…while trying to disarm citizens.

Deep State to PDs: Don’t arrest them.

Problem solved.

“Is there any other country with a major political party which HATES ITS CITIZENS as much as the US?”

Yes, in almost all Western European countries.

That won't work. Like it or not. We need the labor.

The way to do this is to build the wall. So at least, we'll get a handle on the crisis, immediately.

Once the border is sealed, we'll check all the homeless facilities and hotel rooms in the big cities. Then we'll buy everyone a plane ticket back home.

Finally, the remaining illegals who are employed and they have a place to live, they can sign up for guest worker visas. Renewable annually. This is not amnesty.

“Yes, in almost all Western European countries.”

Not to the extend that the Democrats HATE Americans...not even close.

You can't even visit Canada, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, China, Japan, and Malaysia if you have a DUI on your record.

I’ve heard that before with regards to Canada but always wondered how would they know? Do US states send that info to other countries or do those countries have access to US state databases? Or do DUI’s somehow make it into a federal database and onto your passport? I’ve been to Canada, Japan and Mexico several times and always breezed through customs. If I had a DUI would I even be allowed on the plane or would they turn you around at customs?

Allow me to expand my comment a bit. No path to citizenship, but we need, if there really are that many jobs Americans won’t do, a work permit system. Extending a period of years. Not 30. But to start those here without disqualifiers, aka criminal records, get work permits for, let’s say, 3-7 years. Presumably they have legitimate jobs, which will clear with EVerify one they have an ID. Not tied to a specific employer. Staggered maturities initially, but barring changinc circumstances renewable routinely. If they want to become citizens, they can apply for a green card and stand in line at the same time. Behind those who have already applied without entering illegally. And given the new pool of legal labor, yes, prosecute employers who don’t use everify.

The wall, sure, build it, better than what we have. But removing the incentive to come here has to be removed. Obviously the work permits, numerious countries have them, would be offered to the lucky lawbreakers with jobs already here, but new entrants would have to apply to enter. Or get deported. Deported, we need a President willing to do it. We have to erase the market for illegal labor.

There’s a way in but you have to go through legal hoops.

United States and Canada share LE information, so a policeman there can see any convictions or warrants just like cops from different states.

Someone I know got pulled over for drunk driving in Florida. They saw he had a prior conviction from Tennessee in…1981, over 40 years ago.

Drunk is a start.

Now just get rid of them for driving - since they probably have no driver’s license.

Entering illegally is a criminal act. I was referring to criminal convictions after entry, if you prefer a second crime, this one prosecuted. I was replying to a post suggesting we could solve the problem by simply deporting them when they commit a crime and the problem will solve itself. I’m not opposed to deportation after a criminal conviction, but that won’t solve the problem, they don’t all commit criminal acts.
