[He was born in 1957. He himself was there and lived through it. Moreover, his father, who was a pre-1949 communist party member, was declared a dissident and “counter-revolutionary,” and was exiled during Mao’s years, when he spoke out against Mao’s excesses.

So he’s hardly “ignorant” of what went on. You may not like him, but he’s speaking from experience people on FR will never have.]

As members of the new ruling Red aristocracy at the head of a conquering army, the guy’s family merely fell from grace. That’s the slings and arrows of imperial whim at work, not censorship. Millions of the censored were put into mass graves by people like his father.

I think that was as embarrassed as I have ever been posting a response. I do fall prey to having an opinion before reading the entire article, like almost every Freeper I have encountered, but this time, I was in a rush to get out the door and saw this and had to post to it before I ran.

To my detriment.

I have very strong feelings about the totalitarian bent of the CCP, and they do things today that would make Mao’s Communist China look like petulant children wielding a gun, or the Stasi in East Germany which had the pure totalitarian bent but not the technology to accomplish what they desired, which was total surveillance.

Mao’s Communists had no problem just putting a bullet in the neck of anyone they didn’t like, to the tune of 40-120 million people depending on who you believe, but I don’t think Mao’s Communist scum had the technology to put people on EMCO machines to harvest their organs over a long period of time just to sell for hard currency...like Xi’s Communists do.
