The only commercial we really liked were the E*Trade babies playing pickleball.

That could’ve ended a LOT differently. Thank God it didn’t. Great skill by Sneed!

I find both Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to be highly annoying.

The commercials were bad this year. I remember when they were really good.

The only commercial I halfway liked was the one with David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston.

The E*Trade babies playing pickleball ad was the funniest, IMO.

check out jake the a**hole on you tube...get the aaron rodgers vid where he was injured...then look at the Laurence injury....then look at the thumbs up signal by Doug Baldwin.....its all about the betting....during the game even....the house has to win....

the betting perfectly explains the going for two by the lions against the cowboys...and the rams going for a fg instead of the td against the lions...its all a setup to beat the spread.

Interesting about the Chiefs NOT running quarterback sneaks because Mahomes got injured running one a few years ago.

But, for many teams those sneaks have become virtually automatic, esp. if you have a big strong quarterback. Why not bring in someone like Kelce who is at least capable of throwing a medium length pass, so that threat is still minimally there, for a sneak? Ok, maybe you don’t want to risk Kelce either, but, I’m betting someone on the team “qualifies”. A guy who quarterbacked in High School, for example.

Maybe even have him throw a pass from that formation in some “throw-away down” short yardage situation, a couple times early in the season, to keep defenses honest.

Well, KC won without this in their “arsenal”, but, the target on their backs is going to be even bigger next year.

Nice vault! I thought for sure Sneed would come up injured on that one.

I dunno, but something I noticed is that after Valdez-Scantling made that mistake on the final drive (lost several yards going backwards), KC went right back to him the next play to get it back. And it’s not like V-S (#11) is exactly one of KC’s top players.

That says a lot about KC’s coaching staff.

One of the guests at our Super Bowl party said he didn’t want California win anything. Anyway, your analytics are impressive. I guess it was the intangible you couldn’t put your finger on that won the game—the reason the game is played. It was an excruciating game, I could barely watch it and was grateful we had people to feed and to talk to. Couldn’t believe it when finally, the Chiefs prevailed. Could have gone either way, quite honestly.

Well, it looks like your team won. I was rooting for the Niners. A moment of silence...

From here it looked like Niners brain trust/coaching/play calling/game plan seemed to be unaware that KC had a weak run defense (against a formidable SF run offense).

One thing about the playoffs, teams have a tendency to get happy feet and feel like they have to pass to score as quickly as they can. Nerves. Notice, again, when the Niners started running the ball a lot they moved it down the field. Notice KC won by Mahomes running the ball. Flashes of brilliance.

But IMO, both teams most of the game were missing the boat by not running more based on the matchups & offense/defense strengths/weaknesses. That analysis really gets you into the game and often explains why things end up as they do. I’ve never seen anyone do that matchup/game plan analysis. It’s fun for me.

In this game early on, I felt like the winning team might be the one that is hurt least by their own screw-ups. In the end, after getting into the red zone, SF went to the pass, whereas KC ran for the win with Mahomes.

Football Widows, your men are returning...
