Oh I know another aspect is tying Trump’s hands if he tries to undo this insanity.
To that, I would say if I were Trump, day one in office this crap (and a lot more) gets zeroed out, and by God, I would DARE, them to try to impeach for a third time and make me that much more powerful politically.
McConnell and his ilk need to go.
Wow! I didn’t know about Harry Reid, but it doesn’t surprise me, at all.
I don’t think that the blackmail or threat is “one size fits all” though. I believe it is different for each politician. I suggest one of the following:
1) The pay-to-win election tampering the Democrats have created works for Republicans, too. Once used, they are owned, however - I am thinking of Kemp.
2) Pizza as a hobby, caught electronically. That new-fangled phone you got does more than you thought - right, Lindsay, or Hunter?
3) McConnell’s wife is probably an agent of China. This could lead to any number of possibilities.
4) Some people may respond best to simple physical threats. There are enough bodies: Seth Rich, Vince Foster, Ron Brown and, as you say, Harry Reid. The threat seems believable enough.
Those are just some ideas. I just think we are way beyond the “chamber of commerce” or “cheap labor” stuff, here. These people act more scared than greedy.
Cold War era Soviet bloc countries specialized in payback to families of defectors they left behind. Pushed alive into lit industrial furnaces, “accidentally” drowned under flimsy circumstances, fell to their deaths, walked in front of cars, etc. The message got through.
