Yeah, in testing the Nokians tested a bit better as rain tires than snow tires, but they are still very well rated as snow tires, and so far wear is looking considerably better.

The USA stands for 70% of the burden.
However, don’t forget that most European countries are separately buying a lot military equipment from America, for billions of dollars.

Also, if there would be a conventional war between America and Russia one day, it would mostly be fought on European soil - thus preserving America from all the destruction...
See that as an added heavy support to America from its European allies.

Well America was built from the ground up by the Europeans.
And later, France came to America’s rescue in its war of independence. It cost France a fortune, and partly ruined its economy, but Americans got their freedom. So in my view it was worth it.
