FTC sues to block Kroger's $24.6 billion acquisition of Albertsons over monopoly concerns

Thanks for that list: you’d think an exhibit like that would make Kroger’s case in an instant: it’s kinda hard to claim ‘monopoly’ when you hold less than 7% of the marketplace (which would be the case AFTER adding Albertson’s).

The FTC’s claim of ‘lower quality products’ is equally ludicrous. A can of Del Monte peas is going to be the same regardless of who sells it, for example. (I know that’s a gross over-simplification, but it’s also not like this deal would substantially improve Kroger’s leverage, either).
