My secretary and her family were evacuated from their farm in Florin south east of Sacramento and spent the war in Manzanar. Their farm was sold to some white folks by the government.
When they got reparations i think in the late 80s she, her mother and her husband who was at Tule lake, each got 30,000. The reparations went to those who were in the camps and still alive when the reparations were paid.
The value of the land and development of her family farm at the time, 1.7 million.

It’s been exactly 159 years since the ending of chattel slavery in the United States and a generation is considered to be 25-30 years by all authorities, so 10 generations equates to 250-300 years.
In no way is 159 “approximately” 250-300.

My one grandmother had 11 children...unless she had a child every year ..she would have been 50+ years old by t.

More than likely she would have been somewhere between 15..25 y/o when she had her first child.
It’s also been my understanding that people had shorter life spans even a century ago.
And therefore had children much younger than today..
Before the civil war one could die from a cut..if it got infected.
