Republicans need to do the heavy lifting for Trump........
and open the books on James’ fund raising.....and spending.

A top to bottom scouring of James’ ghost donors is warranted.

Yeah, but "NY" and "justice" in the name sentence? If that comes to pass, I will change my mind.

“In all, Trump and his co-defendants owe more than $465 million.”

Barf. A kangaroo court claims he owes.

It is a game for them.

He has to appeal to Democrat judges, that’s the problem.

It’s all about timing, don’t you think, EC?

If he fails to post the required size bond while his case is actively on appeal, the donkey party will probably milk the appeals process timeline for all it’s worth in terms of brutal public collections efforts geared toward (1) portraying Trump as a man who doesn’t care about paying his bills, helpful to pull down his ‘2024 election polling numbers, and (2) stealing or impounding every Trump asset that can be found within New York State as a menacing message to anyone who ever thinks about being the next Trump figure in the future or donating to or working for same

If he surprisingly successfully posts the required size bond before full-scale collections efforts begin, the in-state appeal process will be arbitrarily and nakedly unfairly stretched out to and past the national election “season”.

In all, Trump and his co-defendants owe more than $465 million.

But not to any aggrieved parties who were defrauded, because they don't exist.

“When is the GOP going to do the same at the state level to democrats?”
**************************************************************

You forgot the sarcasm tag.

We all know if a Republican ever tried something similar, the media, all the media, including thousand of beat reporters would swarm the poor guy/gal like locusts. The View, Opra, Joe and Micka would have panel discussions talking about how the unhinged wanna be dictator needs to be reined in the Courts. The NYT, WP, LaTimes, and all local newsrags would denounce the Republican as an unhinged tyrant. Democrat politicians would shut down Congress demanding the Republican be locked up. The FIB\DOJ would ramp up lawfare, making up fake criminal cases. Democrat lawyers would use lawfare creating fake civil charges. Local politicians would make trouble. If the poor guy had kids, activists would have crowds protesting at school chanting “tyrant”, “tyrant”, “tyrant”. The spouse would be stalked and harassed. The kids would need armed security everywhere they went.

Did I miss anything?

Who would want to deal with that circus? Ok, we can dream though.

banning Trump, his company, and co-defendants from obtaining loans from New York banks

Part of the plan obviously. Give him a huge fine, and then make it impossible for him to pay it or even post a bond because he can't even get a loan against his massive equity - almost every bank has a nexus to New York. Maybe, he can find a loan from a regional or even foreign bank but that last idea looks bad for a Presidential candidate. Maybe from the UK but they probably all have NY connections too.

Perhaps some billionaire friends can make a private deal for him the way Joe Biden loaned his brother so many $100,000's lol. Jared Kushner may have deep pockets too his family is in east coast real estate they could possibly do a deal to buy one of the buildings, with a put/call option to sell it back if and when the case is resolved.

Trump deals with the circus everyday. So we need more like him at the state level.

Maybe NY would hire more lawyers to indict Trump. Or Litigious James could follow the example of BLM leaders (buy expensive real estate).

To make liberals heads explode, here is none other than Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s opinion in Timbs v Indiana:

For good reason, the protection against excessive fines has been a constant shield throughout Anglo-American history: Exorbitant tolls undermine other constitutional liberties. Excessive fines can be used, for example, to retaliate against or chill the speech of political enemies, as the Stuarts’ critics learned several centuries ago. See Browning-Ferris, 492 U. S., at 267. Even absent a political motive, fines may be employed “in a measure out of accord with the penal goals of retribution and deterrence,” for “fines are a source of revenue,” while other forms of punishment “cost a State money.” Harmelin v. Michigan, 501 U. S. 957, 979, n. 9 (1991) (opinion of Scalia, J.)

Do you know the source of these funds? Of course not, but you assume it’s coming from his campaign fund. And if it is, why do you care? You haven’t donated to his campaign. Those who have, have decided that they would rather support a candidate who is being targeted by the deep state than one who isn’t.
