I’m sure she was romanticizing the idea, if it’s true at all. Probably wanted to live in a cute little cabin like Laura Ingalls Wilder.
My mom is something else. My sister and brother and I never had any positive relationship with her. My kids/my sister’s are grown. My brother lives 800 miles from her, so our immediate family is safe in that respect.
Mom is a narcissist. Always has been. She is not interested in any truth that doesn’t adhere to her idea of her “perfect” life (related to being a narcissist I understand). My sister and I have often discussed the miracle of us becoming adults without SERIOUS mental issues, but that’s because we had a great father. He couldn’t understand mom either, but was a faithful husband/dad in spite of her meanness. They married at a time when relationships through letter-writing and only seeing one another on weekends was still common. Therefore he didn’t really get to know her until it was “too late”.
And you’re right about her overlooking things. She has a cousin who’s in his early 80’s now that was in prison for decades over a murder he committed during a robbery. TO THIS DAY she refuses to believe he was at fault. Why? Because he doted on her when she was young. Blah!!!! No matter the witnesses and testimony of his accomplice (who was only 15). They are all “liars” in her mind.
Makes me wonder the mental capacity of mothers who allow felons into their lives, and their children’s. Something has to be way, way off.
Or maybe escaping abuse?
Posted too quickly....If my memory serves me, she was posting those wishes on social media via her phone which she managed to leave at home (ahem) the day she went missing when mom’s live-in dropped her off at school (ahem again).
If your mother has any kind of net worth there could still be a problem.
And men get horny and violent.
And freepers always blame the woman.
There are reasons I am against eliminating the death penalty altogether.
If she’s alive, which is doubtful, she’s hidden away somewhere not easily found. I know of two cases where the kidnapped girl was found weeks later, totally abused, but alive. There is still a slim chance she is alive.
And no, she did not accidentally leave her cell phone at home. He did not accidentally reset his phone back to factory settings. The question is where is she? They may need canines to help them out.

They do not have the LORD God in thier lives and have often rejected outright the gift of Salvation at some time in thier lives and have been given over to rebrobate hearts.
I realize there are those who would call me unreasonable.
As a “so-far-to-the-left-that-Hillary-Clinton-was-a-conservative-compared-to-me,” I can attest to that as truth.
Now, as far as why women will often give up the safety of their own children, I truly believe it goes down to the something told to the Woman who was to be named Eve...

It’s only my thoughts, here, so bear with me, please.
The Woman chose to be at the LORD God’s level, or perhaps even higher (reason would give this as thought because in her mind if she had equal knowledge she could at time some time become better than Man.
As they were both to complete each other it was the LORD God’s word that Woman (on down the line) would have a need both emotionally, physicall, and even spiritually to be one with a mate.
Now, in a sinful world, convience is the here-and-now and often the chosen goal post.
So many, many lost women cannot see past what they perceive as sacrificing anything for long-term goals.
Christianity teaches us that we owe more to others than to ourselves via love. Not the HERE-TAKE-IT-ALL love that athiests and non-believers would use as a tool. Rather, it’s the hard-decisions love that we are to grasp.
You mother appears (appears, I say) to be in the first set of women.
Through the LORD God’s grace you and your siblings survived that upbringing.
Interestingly, your father’s presence provides the reason why marriage is to be both man and woman. While there was no doubt ups and downs in all families, he was a stable force in your guidance. Many a woman has been the stable for when a father is in the home and errant in his duties. Again, reason for both mother and father in the home. In this case, your father was the anchor.
I often wondered why women would risk their offspring for a man in thier bed.... It’s that line that provides the reasoning.
And at no time does it mean the LORD God caused/causes women to select evil ways: He was telling them what was coming down-the-line.
Men have thier own issues which I relate to the LORD God’s discussion with Man.

Yup. My sister and I have discussed that as well. Concern she may sign over the house or provide a loan or large donation without understanding what she’s doing. She’s getting nuttier by the week. Until we can get a diagnosis that she cannot make her own decisions our hands are tied. So far the doctor thinks she’s not that bad. We know better.
I agree. Roman’s talks about the sinful being given over to a reprobate mind. It’s rampant.

Humans are not lions or any other species of animal whose males kill the offspring of other males to obtain that male’s female)s) and territory-and animals kill for survival-it is instinct for them-animals are not evil. Humans have the capacity for evil-like a man who is a sex offender/is attracted to girls younger than the age of consent. That is not instinct-that is flat out criminal and f’ing crazy-someone who belongs in a prison for life, or should be put in front of a firing squad if they murder someone...

I do not have a lot of female friends, nor do I choose to work with females-I don’t really like many members of my own sex-that is based on their playing the victim card constantly in their professional and personal lives, rather than being a responsible equal adult-their choice of men or care of kids are not part of that. I was a single mom of a little one for most of my college years-I guarded her with my life and didn’t trust anyone but close family-male or female with my precious cub. When I married, it was to someone whose family was well known by mine, as well as his background, but maybe we country people are just naturally cautious. Too many men-and women are careless in personal relationships-no reason to be, since all the info on just about anyone is all online, if you just search and read.
Misogyny is not really appreciated, so please stop blaming women for the violence and lack of humanity of some psychotic and evil men. There are plenty of folks of both sexes who get taken in by a manipulative, criminally-inclined partner-any man or woman should verify/check out anyone who comes on to them before they even go on a 1st date, kids or no kids-it is the only way to stay safe from bad people today...
Wrong. More white men perpetuate these crimes against children when it comes to sexual assault. Please don’t be racist. We are all of one race. The race of men. We have many, many ethnicities such as skin tones and creeds. I’m white, and a woman, and this is what I’ve observed in my almost 60 years of life.
I’m not surprised at all to see at least one man making nasty comments about single moms or women in general on this thread-a relationship with a single mom does not make a man kill kids...
