Well, it happened to Maverick and that is how he lost Goose.

IIRC Maverick's plane experienced dual engine flameout and uncontrollable spin flying through Iceman's “jet wash”. During my Air Force tour of duty I flew through “jet wash” plenty of times and never experienced anything more extreme than discomfort due to turbulence. Chalk Maverick's problem and Goose's death up to Hollywood scriptwriters.

Maybe Maverick was flying an F-14A with the TF-30 engines 😜

PukinDog has been gone for some time though - I never had a problem with him
