“In Florida, the medical skeptic leading the state’s health department..”
That is all I needed to read to parse out the bias of the article. KFF is a big cheerleader for those “experts” who steered COVID policies and those results.
When HepB shots were first required for those entering 7th grade I referred to it as the pedophile protection act. Now it is even scarier that it is required for younger and younger children.
It’s more than you deserve.
You’re acting like you have any credibility
or as though you should be treated as a good-faith poster.
Trust the science. Uh huh.
Not BS, Dugway.
Not at all my good man.
For example, I believe that alcohol is more damaging to society than marijuana. But I would never wish to enact prohibition.
Jesus was right when he effectively trashed divorce. I believe divorce is more destructive than booze, especially to the family. But I am not petitioning the state to force married folks to stay married.
I also believe smoking tobacco is harmful to one’s health. I believe the explosion of obesity is highly correlated with the demonization of, and decline in smoking. In both cases, I disagree with the criminalization of smoking in commercial properties and attempted ban of large sodas in NYC.
The fight against alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, divorce, and sugary drinks belongs in the public square, not the legislature. These are personal choices (I’d be willing to argue more forcefully for the divorce thing but that’s a post for another day). Yes, there may be negative externalities but that’s life: one man’s negative externality is another’s positive externality.
Clarence Thomas got it right, when he wrote about the protests (threats?) from the Roe leak: “We are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don’t like.”
I admit, I’m an oddity (and yes…look at my posting history and you’ll likely agree) who believes that the right of my fist ends at your face. But those principles underpin America. I refuse to become a leftist and dump my principle to gain safety (and we know how that ends).
Or, to quote Mick Jagger, you can’t always get what you want. It is heartbreaking to see children getting sick and dying. But in the match between parents vs government, parents win every day and twice on Sunday.
THE driving force behind the transition from debate to lawfare is thirst for control. That transition is often dressed up in concern, in love of fellow man, planetary temperature and other fairy tales. Undress that concern, and you’ll find a wife-beater, child-abuser, and similar “you’ve left me no choice but to deprive you of self-determination for your own good” kissing cousins.
It’s not BS at all. It’s liberty vs tyranny.
Your move.
In regards to Covid there are almost no children dying and the vax shill you're talking to is fully aware of that.
According to the following site 1,642 children 17 yrs and younger have died of covid as of June 14, 2023
Number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) deaths in the U.S. as of June 14, 2023, by age*
According to a Johns Hopkins research team ...
Johns Hopkins Team: There Are Still ZERO Covid Deaths Among Healthy Kids Jul 23, 2021
Only a greedy monster would promote vaxxing millions of children in order to possibly, but not likely, save 1,642 children who had serious co-morbidities.
And the crowd chose Barabbas, too.

Childhood immunization rates have dropped for three consecutive years
........
I would like to se if the infant SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME has dropped too.
One pamphlet described the toll of a 2018-19 measles outbreak in Washington state that sickened 72 people, most of whom were unvaccinated, costing $76,000 in medical care, $2.3 million for the public health response, and an estimated $1 million in economic losses due to illness, quarantine, and caregiving.
.....
Let’s unpack this:
72 people, most of whom were unvaccinated, costing $76,000 in medical care,
....
MOST is a wiggle word. How many MOST?
76000 dollars in care is a little more than 1000 dollars in care each on average. Not an unusual amount to spend on Healthcare when ill. Easily met when mandatory blood work x-rays and other tests are needed to defend against lawsuits.
...........
........
$2.3 million for the public health response
...
This is the government’s chosen response. Ads interviews. Internet alerts and other budget busting choices.
.......
.......
an estimated $1 million in economic losses due to illness, quarantine, and caregiving.
....
Each of the 76,000 lost or caused the loss on average $13.57 due to illness quarantine and caregiving.
.................
Either measles are no big deal or they can’t count.
