“Florida is less conservative than Ohio or Kentucky, so complacency is not a winning plan.”

Not sure about that. Florida has a Republican governor; Kentucky a Dem.

Florida has elected bad politicians but not sure it has reached Mitch McConnel level, at least not since Charlie Crist.

If the wording on abortion is similar to the wording on other state amendments expect very deceptive wording. The word abortion will be a blip, with the amendment declaring to be about reproductive health and the life and safety of women. The wording will most likely mean striking down ANY limitations now written into law. The writers though will make certain that point is not advertised.

Access to abortion does not belong in any constitution. It is a legislative matter. What does belong is a right to life.

Maybe so, but Republicans will never win another election by preaching it.

Principles don't matter, as long as you don't lose an election?

Just like 'abortion' has become an acceptable and harmless term, preaching that abortion is in fact the killing of a human being, could become acceptable and truthful and abortion could become unacceptable and very harmful.

If winning elections is all that matters, why not embrace all the stances on all the issues that matter to democrats, and then pretend to be happy about all of it, and win, win, win.

“Expect higher Democrat voter turnout ..”

Yup.

Awhile back, the statewide ban was after 15 weeks. I was fine with that, like the majority of FL voters.

Idiot single-issue self-righteous “My God can beat up your God” crowd kept pushing, and pushing, and pushing, like they always do. Idiots that they are.

They rammed through a 6 week ban. 6 WEEKS!!!! (It’s pendimg court action) So STUPID!

I said at the time, called my guys, that they just ensured:

1. A FL constitutional amendment to make all, or most, abortions legal. With a very good chance of passing.

2. Tremendous dem turnout. Enough that we’ll lose many seats.

Dumba$$es.

“in Florida today, in terms of registered voters, Republicans outnumber Democrats by about 1 million,”

And half of us don’t want the idiot 6 week ban that the idiots just passed. Lots of crossovers coming.

Isn’t this the way it’s supposed to work in this country, instead of 9 unaccountable judges in Washington deciding the issue of abortion for the entire country versus the people of the state of Florida deciding the issue for themselves

A60% threshold is a big hurdle to overcome if that number of people support the abortion issue then you have to accept it even if you don’t agree
