Other reports say windows tinted and couldn’t possibly see if seat belt was on. I suspect cops just looking to knock someone over. No seat belt is a pretty chicken..and not smart..pretext to stop a car in the current volatile world,
So, how many people on this forum would be comfortable complying with the orders of five people claiming to be police officers when they are wearing street clothes and riding in an unmarked vehicle ?
Ummmm... Don’t pull a gun on 5 armed cops and shoot at them.
The story is written to make it sound like the cops shot him for a traffic violation when in reality it was because the idiot fired first.
“Available preliminary evidence also confirms that officers returned fire approximately 96 times over a period of 41 seconds, including after Mr. Reed exited his vehicle and fell to the ground,”
Well at least he exited the vehicle, before exiting this world. One less charge.

ALL Sovern citizens who refuse to exit their car should watch this video and rethink their position.
In an area where crime is rampant, traffic stops should be ,made by uniformed officers.
The way these cops were dressed, most of us who carry would have assumed we were being carjacked.
Even if a plainclothes cop is forced to stop someone because of a serous crime, smart cops call for backup by uniformed cops before things get out of control.
The victim was an armed security guard.
The seat belt stop. Unmarked police car, five officers. That sounds like planning and a pretext.
Report that security company had some bad guards, so maybe they were intentionally following and observing the company's guards?
And 96 shots, again, that's overkill no matter how you look at it.
Trigger happy cops committed murder. Charge them, let's see how it plays out.
That Thin Blue Line, protect the cops, even from murder, poor training and execution (pardon the pun)?
Once a driver shoots a gun at police, I don’t care if the police fire 10 shots or 200 shots, they need to neutralize the threat.
Nobody gets the memo these days. Texts, twitter, tiktok, and neither drivers nor cops get the memo.
Video: https://www.cbsnews.com/video/bodycam-video-released-of-chicago-cops-firing-96-shots-at-dexter-reed-during-traffic-stop/ Seems like driver refuses to follow police instructions, puts window up, shoots, wounds officer, police response ballistic.
He was pulled over by plainclothes cops in an unmarked car, and I didn’t hear them identify themselves as police officers. I imagine he was scared, maybe thinking it was a car-jacking or worse. What would you do if 5 people got you to pull over and then they all pulled guns on you?
I read (maybe FR) yesterday-ish that Room Temperature Guy was on pre-trial release for some serious crime. A bunch of plainsclothes jumpout guys aren’t gonna yank some random nobody for no seatbelt.
