Get that mowing done while you can. LOL I’m glad I got mine done last week because it’ll be a little while before I can do it again. This place is a swamp right now.

A lot of birthdays this weekend. Yours and your niece’s are the day before mine and a very close friend’s birthday is Sunday too.
So you finally turn the big 6-0, do ya? Been a while since I was that young. LOL

I hope it’s a beautiful day so you and Giz can have a great time at Chisolm Trail Park.

It’s been 7 years? That IS hard to believe. I remember when you were cleaning all those uniforms. It’s a wonder your allergies didn’t overwork themselves then. Well, maybe they did. LOL!

Is it still raining there? I wonder when...or if....we’ll get some more.

I hadn’t really thought about how long I’d been there until recently. I was asked about it and when I thought back, I kinda freaked out. LOL It really doesn’t seem like it’s been that many years. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and it’s sure flown in this case.

It DID wear my sinuses out when I was cleaning the uniforms. OMG, it was horrible. Couldn’t breathe for days and by the time my head was back to normal, it was time to head up there again. Even today I could feel a difference as I d rove up there. The trees up there are behind ours, due to the higher elevation, and what’s through pollinating here is cranking it out up there.

We didn’t get the rain and storms they’d predicted for today, thank goodness. That mess stayed down south and we just got scattered showers. Now the system that gave you grief - and everyone else - the past few days is moving east and the center of the low is heading this way. That’s what gives us the wind advisory. They said it’ll be in effect from 3 am until 5 pm and it’s starting to crank up now. Rain’s on the way with it.

No rain across the west half of the country so I guess it’ll be a while before you have a shot at any. :-(

Hope the wind doesn’t last too long there. It’s very annoying.

It’s not fair. There is New Orleans flooding and we can’t even get a sprinkle! What a crazy world.

Anyhow..I’d better get out of here and get some sleep. The house is cooling off and I’m ready to be under the covers. See ya tomorrow!

Just have to see how long it takes that darn low to move through and outta here. It’s taking its jolly good time moving up. Nowhere I have to go tomorrow so it’s no biggie.

I saw some shots of the flooding on the news, as well as some of the tornado damage from this storm system. It’s been a nasty one.

Sleep well. I’m about to hit the pillows too. Catch ya tomorrow.

Oh yes! Beautiful Days!

Wanted to go down to Bro’s garage and fetch Blue from hibernation, but Bro is on a Cruise with his wifey right now.

Howdy dooo, Early Birds!
Yeah...I'm late again. LOL!
It's so gorgeous out,
I was sitting on the patio.
Listening to the mourning doves.
And watching the cats stretching in the sun.
Hope all y'all enjoyed Kathy's thread.
Our troops are magnificent!
Have a Thank-The-Troops Thursday!
(((hugs)))

Mind sharing some of that gorgeous weather with us over here? LOL The sun was shining and there were patches of blue sky when I woke up but the entire western horizon was black. About 15 minutes later, it was pouring and it’s been raining ever since - - sometimes lightly, sometimes pouring.
Glad I didn’t have to go anywhere today. No way to stay dry with the wind blowing the rain sideways.

My wild turkeys don’t seem to mind though. This kind of weather seems to bring them out and they were scattered all across the front field for a while.

It is still lovely outside, and I was going to sit at the patio table with my laptop to post tonight. BUT....the stupid thing needed re-charging the moment I turned it on. If I’d known it was that close, I’d have charged it during the night. So, here I sit at the kitchen table. Boo. Hiss.

Crazy is the weather you’re having. Thank goodness you didn’t have to get out and get soaked. Turkeys, like eagles, have water-resistant feathers, so they wouldn’t get soaked like hoomans do. Plus maybe the rain brought out lots of tasty bugs for them to snatch. ๐Ÿฆ—

Too bad you didn’t think to charge your laptop last night. You could be relaxing outside tonight while you have nice weather.

This week has been the pits weather-wise. At least we’ll be dry tomorrow, though windy. Then three NICE days before it gets windy and damp again. It’s Spring. LOL

All birds keep their feathers water-resistant by preening. They can still getting mighty soggy when it rains a lot and the turkeys did a lot of shaking to get the excess water off today. They enjoyed whatever they were eating today and the cats and I enjoyed watching them. The cats do get in twitch when the birds get close to the house. That’s when they realize how big they are. LOL

I know, huh. I was all ready to spend time out there with the kitties and the almost balmy evening. Now it’s 66 degrees and just a tad chilly for sitting out for very long. Especially when you’re cold-natured like I am. Maybe tomorrow. It’ll probably be awful again then. LOL!

Enjoy those 3 nice days. You’ll need the memory of them to get you through another round of bad stuff. Just hope it doesn’t include tornadoes. Ugh.

Yeeeaaah, that would be a little uncomfortable for hanging out on the patio with the kitties.
Our high tomorrow won’t be quite that warm and with the wind, it’s going to be nippy. At least it’ll be dry and sunny when I head out to run errands.

No severe weather expected next week. Just windy again with chances for showers. Temps in the low 80s all week will make it comfortable enough.
I’m praying for a nice weekend, especially Saturday. That’s the day we’ll have the cannon shoot and none of us want that called off.

To me, windy IS the bad stuff. I’m sick of it. LOL! And then I stay here where it’s always going to be blowing. What am I THINKIN’!

Fingers crossed that all goes well on Saturday. I know how fun that will be for you. I hope he lets you help!

Windy gets obnoxious but as long as it isn’t knocking things down, I can deal with it.

I wish we were opening this weekend, which is usually the time we DO re-open. Maybe Da Boss or some of the volunteers will be out of town, and we’ll need all hands on deck.
But this Saturday’s weather will be perfect and there’s no telling what next Saturday will be like.

I seriously doubt anyone will get to fire the cannon other than the owner. All that counts is being there to hear and feel the booms. :-)

You’ll certainly enjoy the booms. Even better than fireworks! I hope they post pictures on their Facebook page. That way I can enjoy them, too!

I’d say it’s a safe bet a pic or two will be posted on their FB page. More than likely, a video.

Is it still raining there or has it stopped for now?

I hope there’s something TO check out. The way this month has gone so far .......

The rain is FINALLY outta here!! I stepped outside and there are tiny white dots in the sky. I haven’t seen stars all week. LOL

WooHoo! We have stars! Enjoy them while you can! Well, it’s probably too cool to be out there very long. :)

See ya tomorrow [or maybe not, since it’s museum on Saturday]. I’m out of here for the night.
