I won’t say it was much nicer here but 65 was still better than yesterday’s 59. The next three days will be mid 70s - where we should be - and that’s much nicer. 80s again by the weekend and it’s just too soon for that. With the rain chances, it’ll be steamy on top of hot. Ugh.
My thermometer reads 48 so there’s no desire to sit on the patio. LOL
65 is not bad....and certainly better than high 80s this early. I know you’ll enjoy those 70s for sure! I hope it’s warm over the weekend so you get lots of guests at the museum.
It wasn’t bad today. Just not quite as nice as the next three days will be. I’d planned to mow the other yard today because the temp was perfect for it but things didn’t work out for it. Tomorrow is going to be windy so it won’t be very fun for mowing. It needs to be done though.
As I said before, it’ll be in the low 80s this weekend so it’ll be plenty warm. This time of year, a warm Saturday hurts us at the museum because people want to get outside to enjoy it after being cooped up by cold weather. But there are rain chances and that’ll help. Not much mowing or many BBQs going on in the rain.
Well, I hope it’s a good weekend so you don’t get bored. I know it’s more fun when you have excited guests to work with. The weather sounds pretty great except for the humidity. But you’re used to it. I’m totally not. :)
It should be a good weekend. A lot of people who were there Saturday had never been there before and they said they were going to be sure to tell their friends about it. It won’t be as busy as Saturday was, though, because we won’t have the extra activities going on. Still gonna be fun. It’s so good to be back in the swing of things up there.
I might be used to humidity but that doesn’t mean I like it. LOL Not that much humidity anyway.

We most certainly will. There’s a Level 2 (slight) out for Northwest Texas later today. I think our turn will start tomorrow.
What I heard tonight is there are several rounds from di-week through the weekend, primarily in the plains. OK’s in the bulls eye Thursday. Buckle your seat belt. :-)
I remember the humidity we had in Georgia. It was horrible in the summertime. That was when I was first introduced to refrigerated air. Till then, all I’d known is water-cooled air conditioning. We call them swamp coolers. LOL!
I’m sure as your reputation spreads, the museum will get busier and busier.
PS....I’d better head to the barn now. I’m getting really sleepy. Story of my life.

I’m familiar with swamp coolers. When I lived in NC years ago, my then-hubby and I lived in a 1955 mobile home with no AC. One summer we had a stretch of several days of temps over 100. He built one and it kept the kitchen and living room bearable and we slept on the living room floor. A summer I never want to repeat but we did survive. LOL
It’s definitely rough having no AC when it’s hot and steamy. I’ve lived in more than one apartment that didn’t have AC and had fans everywhere. Better than nothing.
To this day, even with AC, I keep a fan in the bedroom to blow across the bed so I can sleep. It runs during winter too.
People are finding out about us more and more as time goes on.
Get a good night’s sleep. I hope the weird dreams aren’t haunting you any more.

On December 30, 1862, the US Civil War raged. Union and Confederate troops camped seven hundred yards apart on opposing sides of Tennessee’s Stones River. As they warmed themselves around campfires, Union soldiers picked up their fiddles and harmonicas and began playing “Yankee Doodle.” In reply, the Confederate soldiers offered “Dixie.” Remarkably, both sides joined for a finale, playing “Home, Sweet Home” in unison. Sworn enemies shared music in the dark night, glimmers of an unimagined peace. The melodic truce was short-lived, however. The next morning, they put down their fiddles and picked up their rifles, and 24,645 soldiers died.
Our human efforts to create peace inevitably wear thin. Hostilities cease in one place, only to ignite somewhere else. One relational dispute finds harmony, only to be embroiled in distress again months later. The Scriptures tell us that God is our only trustworthy peacemaker. Jesus said it plainly, “In me you . . . have peace” (John 16:33). We have peace in Jesus. While we participate in His peacemaking mission, it’s God’s reconciliation and renewal that make real peace possible.
Christ tells us we can’t escape conflict. “In this world [we] will have trouble,” Jesus says. Strife abounds. “But take heart!” He adds, “I have overcome the world” (v. 33). While our efforts often prove futile, our loving God (v. 27) makes peace in this fractious world. .
