Students were arrested protesting the war in Vietnam, and against Apartheid, and there were no long term consequences.”
Here in Seattle some antiwar protesters got a hickory shampoo from the police. No one in law school would protest because at that time if one were caught protesting they were not eligible to be admitted to the bar.
Will they at least get a copy of “Beer Hall Putsch: the home game” on their way out?
Passing the bar is problematic if you have a conviction on your record. For the most part, in most of the arrests so far, the charges, as they did in Texas, will be dropped.
NO, NO, NO!
NO AMNESTY! In fact, their files should be flagged so only companies with Jew hating management will consider hiring them! And by who hires them, we’ll become aware of companies with which to avoid doing business.
If it comes to physical contact, first pull off their masks for easier ID later on. if you get pictures, publish them wherever you are able.
Isn’t it sad and unfair that people should be held responsible for their actions.
“So when they apply for jobs working in D.C. for a cushy federal job, they should have to explain themselves that they’ve gotten themselves arrested at a pro-hamas protest at their university.”
Bonus points with the Biden admin.
A fact of life:
No one likes to become entangled with the criminal justice system. But... hey those who do make their lives infinitely more difficult.
If you are in college you are af’ing adult! The nerve of these quislings. Should be expelled/ fired for supporting Hamas! Should be deported to Gaza.
That’s a great song.
Well played.
Um…why would a bunch of students, allegedly worried about their past following them and impacting their employment prospects, volunteer to be interviewed in an Associated Press article that will live forever?
They do it all the time!
Because they’re young and dumb.

It's up to the University Presidents. But they should warn the protesters that it's an illegal protest. Give them time to clear out. Then arrest the protestors who are still remaining at the sites. Many of the foreign students will stop protesting if they're warned that their visas will get revoked.
“Can you think of any in the last say, 40 years or so? If so, list 11 more.”
Longer than that. Eric Holder, former US attorney general was a leader in a takeover of Columbia buildings in the ‘60s.
Yes the immigration authorities will get right on it. The way they do everything.
Probably would have been smarter finding a school that DOES NOT reserve the right to expel people who commit crimes against the school, as I suspect is the case at Columbia (and every other school in the country).
Oh well, let’s look at the bright side - these a-holes tend to work their way up to VERY POWERFUL positions after graduating, but that gets far more difficult without a degree from a prestigious university.
? My point is precisely is one SHOULD expect to get away with all this nonsense provided he or she is a “protected” group.
This is only being discussed in the first place because it is completely outside what has been brewing for decades. That makes it cause for comment, not just another day that ends in “Y”.
You’re not Supposed To Notice stuff like that.
They should have used anonymity, blacked their face out, and used voice scramblers for added authenticity.
If the administration was really serious, they would have an assembly, say they are so ashamed of their behavior they didn’t even want to admit they ever associated with them and burn their transcripts on stage
Terrorists and college people negotiate for amnesty.
Funny how the two odious groups have that in common.
