God bless the Congress of the United States of America and the Government Reform Committee in particular!
I just happened to decide to go to the House Website tonight and found this!
The United States House of Representatives if ordering US Attorney General Ashcroft to hand over all the criminal evidence from Clinton and Janet Reno Administration related criminal investigations.

To see Thread II go to:

Another important question I have is:
Will the media even bother reporting the existence of this subpoena and the fact that it orders Ashcroft to turn over the evidence on Clinton and his criminal gang.
That have not yet reported this subpoena at all as all as far as I know.

I am baffled by Bush's reluctance to go after the Clinton's. I am also baffled why he doesn't rescind all of the Clinton executive orders. What is stopping him?

I hate to say it, but you won't hear it in the news media, and they won't turn over the papers, they will continue to protect bubba, thus setting the precidence for the same favor being returned in each succeeding administration.
I still can't quite figure why they keep stalling in the release of the Reagan papers after 12 years, unless, there is detrimental information on Bush I.

The fact is the House Of Representatives has zero authority to make a President or anyone who works for him do anything the president dosen't want to do. That is what the constitution means by 3 EQUAL branched of goverment. NO one brach answers to the other except on impeachment. Ofcourse the DOJ can indict Congressmen and Judges too. But demanding papers has not validity in law.
Members of the house have been demanding papers and reports from the excutive branch since Thomas Jefferson was President.
Jefferson and every president who has followed has told the legislative branch to shove it.
The president who got hounded the most was Andrew Johnson. They almost convincted him on impeachment, but failed by one vote. They were not after Johnson, they just wanted to nail the people who had served with Lincoln.
A congressman from New York whose name was Hamilton Fish was always trying to make FDR divulge stuff. FDR has a ton of fun at Fish's expense. Fish was a third generation New York legislator, and loved to taunt FDR. FDR had a way of saying "REP PRE SENT TA TIVE HAM "ILL" "TON" Fehhhh isssh" Thea Thi errr DAAA that was funny as hell.
Every time the press asked FDR if he was going to meet Fish's demands, FDR would spend what seemed like 3 or 4 minutes just saying Fish's title and name once. After he said the name he would continue to say the matter is under consideration and deliberation. It took FDR another 3 minues to get consideration and deliberation fully enunciated.
After a while no won paid any attention to "REP PRE SEN TA TIVE HAM ILL TON FEEEEESSSSSH. THE THE ERRR DAAA. I believe Fish finally lost his bid for re-election.
If Burton keeps it up so will he.

thus setting the precidence for the same favor being returned in each succeeding administration And with that my friend you hit the nail right on the head!
The evidence almost came out on Bush I, and he had to pardon practically the entire Cabinet on Christmas Day just before he left office so that the [Iran/Contra] evidence would be buried forever. Bush II wants no messy scene like that at the end of their tenure.
It's every FReepers wet dream to have Clinton and his cohorts hunted down and dragged before the firing squad but it's time you all got over that fantasy - it ain't gonna happen. Bush II knows this and doesn't want to set a dangerous precedent by giving a nutcase like Burton any ammunition.
Remember when Clinton signed the Bill reauthorizing the Special Prosecutor Law (despite having been advised against it)? Bet he wishes now that he had followed the advice he was given and let the law expire. You can bet Bush II ain't gonna do anything that stupid that could come back to bite him.

Assuming all or the majority of that is true, does honesty and justice prevail? Should those taxpayers that want to see what they paid for be refused? The Point and principle question is, has honesty and justice prevailed?

Thanks for the heads up. AG Ashcroft will of course follow the law. Think carefully about what the liberal press (and DC courts) will do with the documents. They are still trashing the USSC for the election 2000 decision and are clearly uninterested in investigating the Dems. for massive vote fraud. Think about how they've re-written history and legislated from the bench. I understand and agree with the caution behind this decision. AG Ashcroft will follow the law.

I wonder about this... is Bush going to protest and force congressional oversight committees to actually revisit the job they SHOULD have done regarding Clintong, or is the "conspiracy" view of Bush/Clintong, in fact reality?
I don't want to believe, but it is curious indeed... If ashcroft gives in after a few or months of delay, and then sends strategically redacted information that raises NEW questions, it would be a ploy for exposing Clinton, I THINK.
If they stonewall indefinitely, the fix has almost GOT to be in... why would Ashcroft cover up the China connections, unless his buddies in the Senate were implicated, or our national security was REALLY at stake.
I just don't KNOW? Will everything unfold in its own time? Or are we up against an immovable conspiracy?

These aren't just papers and reports, these are criminal investigations and the Justice department is not permitted to hid them from the Congress.
Do you want Clinton protected by the evidence being withheld from Congress?

Yes Burton and the Committee and Congress respectively is also commanding Ashcroft to turn over evidence, etc., of why the FBI allow an paid informant Flemmi--a mobster to murder ten while he was under their supervision and on their payroll!

How am I abusing the breaking news box by reporting this story?
Is enough important enough?
How many people in the country even know about this?
Who in the mainstream media has reported this subpoena from Congress ordering Ashcroft to turn over these documents?
Is there some reason you don't want people to know about this?
Do you complain when people post endless non-news threads under breaking?

I still believe that Ashcroft is not or will not protect Clinton. He is working from the former Reno Justice Department, and his entire career has been one of honor.

Do you think Ashcroft will obey Congress and turn over the subpoenaed criminal investigation evidence on Clinton and his criminal gang, and the Mafia?

As I mentioned before, I believe there is a lot more to the investigation, and it will not die with Ashcroft. Perhaps the question should be, why the subpoena, and why now?
