Amherst Residents "Furious" Over US Flag
WTKK radio | 9/11/01

A day late, but...

Last night's news carried this item. Some residents in Amherst, MA (Amherst College, Univ. of Massachusetts) are "furious" that the US flag has remained up after Labor Day. They consider the US flag a symbol of racism, imperialism, and evil, and have demanded that it be taken down. The matter has reached the selectmen and town manager for action.

In light of today's events, I think this item is particularly relevant, and says volumes about Amherst, MA, and the surrounding area.

Amherst Residents "Furious" Over US Flag

Pound it up your ass, Amherst! As you can tell, I'm not feeling real shy right now.

Perhaps the "students" at uMass should get their government scholarships and grants from the UN next semester.

I was livid, and quite upset, and also recieved quite an ovation, but I didnt deserve it, they deserved a face slap instead, just because it was necesary for me to say what I did!!

I went on how I was a Marine veteran, one off the coast of Iran for the Hostage Rescue Attempt in Iran, and that one of my clearest memories was of the Iranian criminal student burning our flag, and how that offended me.

They are too stupid to realize that these acts are one and the same!

I was particularly apalled by the comments of Jenny (America Trasher) Traschen of Amherst in the town meeting report link. What a freaking moron! Probably another of the ultraliberal unshaven lesbians that have taken to living in the area. If this country is so distasteful to her, then why the hell does she stay here? Perhaps because no other country would put up with her B.S.? God help her if I ever get her email address!

By the way, to some of the other posters, not everybody in Massachusetts is a Kennedy-loving liberal weasel! Just paint with a slightly smaller brush!

RaceBannon: if you ever need company at one of these farcical meetings (and it sure doesn't sound like you do! Congratulations!), let me know. I would be more than happy to join you, as would many others, I am sure. Give 'em hell brother!!!

Unless those goons are willing to stand up at the next town hall meeting and demand removal of the flag, or sign a letter to the editor identifying themselves for all to see, the local officials should just ignore such rantings.

Remember when Reagan bombed Libya back in the mid-eighties (sigh...), and the French Embassy was "accidentally" removed from the face of the earth? When Bush retaliates, perhaps an "errant" cruise missle could find its way to Amherst?

Your patriotic "actions" speak louder than their treasonous "words" .... but you had to DO IT. I couldn't (from down here.)

From my heart, thank you.

Way to go Race! Thanks for taking the time to state the obvious to the brain dead, berkinstock clad freaks. It's people like them that make the enemy's job so much easier.

Kudos for your restraint in NOT slapping them as they so richly deserved.

Jennie Traschen is a physics professor at UMass and an Amherst resident.
If you also disagree with her statement that "The [American] flag is a symbol of tyranny and fear and destruction and terrorism," you can get ahold of her here: (NOTE: this is her work info. I thought it inappropriate to post her home info, easily available though it is from people.yahoo.com.)

Perhaps she would feel more at home in the Sudan or Afghanistan.

The country obviously disagrees with the liberal wackos of Amherst. There's been a run on flag orders in the U.S and every one who saw that huge flag draped over the side of the Pentagon that was struck by the plane was moved to tears. And in my neighborhood and all over the country people are hanging out their flags. Patriotism is alive and well in the good ol US of A. :-)

No. I was at the townmeeting, and I was also at the tail end of the flag raising after the crashes. This is true, and so is the UN flag they fly in Maherst in front of the Town Hall.
