I can't stop crying either. I was fine today until I heard that the plane was originally headed for the White House. Then I thought about who was in the White House- Laura Bush, Dick Cheney, and Condie Rice- and I lost it.

Last night, when I saw the new footage on CNN of the planes crashing into the towers, my knees buckled and I fell to the floor crying.

You are not alone.

I believe we will see the end of the Talibon in the next few weeks, I also believe there will be hell to pay in Pakistan,Iraq and especially Afghanistan, Most all Embassy's their have pulled out, and they have paid their local help in full, and also cleared out all documents and hard drives from their computers. That is not a good sign for Afghanistan

What an awesome responsibility God has placed on W's shoulders. God hand picked this gentle soul to lead this country for a good reason. He forsaw the catastrophe that was going to fall on the U.s., and He chose this godly man to lead us through this horrific trial. GOD BE MERCIFUL to America and give our president the strength and favor of your heart like King David and the wisdom of Solomon. Amen.

I love the photo of an angry GW with the sole word "United" above him. That picture says it all. Thanks as always for this service you provide us each day.

It is refreshing to come to Free Republic and find true patriots. Television is really getting to me. I've fired off so many nasty e-mails to these news shows. Anyone I perceive as not being supportive of our president & leaders during this crisis hears from me. So far Peter Jennings, Paula Zahn, Brian Williams, Chris Matthews (called him a liberal weenie & a partisan hack)

I was struck by that photo as well.

I have tried not to cry today, but I have had moments where I can't help it.

I agree about the picture of Bush with "United" above him. Could this one be at the head of our nightly thread until this horror is over? I think it would be a very good logo for this thread.

Amen to that, mtngrl. It hits deep in our hearts as Americans and people who love and care for others.

Rintense, these pictures are especially meaningful this evening. President Bush, VP Cheney, and the Cabinet have such pensive and somber expressions. What a tragedy it is to have this massacre happen. Prayers heavenward for the victims, their families, our nation, and of course for our President and administration in their awesome task of governing in such a situation.

My friend's brother is a Fire Captain in NYC. He reported to work after the WTC strikes. He was asking for prayer yesterday morning...I'm extending that to this thread because his work, and the work of countless others, is not completed as yet. It is a gruesome and exhausting (both physically and emotionally) experience I'm sure.

On another note...The security guard murders touched our home this last weekend. One of the young men murdered attended our church. 19 years old (Derrick) and loved the Lord with his whole heart. He's with Jesus as we speak...but leaves behind a sister and parents.

Blessings and safety to all,

Homeschool Mama

The Picture below is that of a Max Hammond, he was aboard the first plane that hit the World Trade Center. He was an employee at Mitre Corp. in N. Virginia and he was my younger brothers co-worker and friend. Please say a prayer for his wife and kids

Oh, rintense, I did too!

How or why that plane was diverted to the Pentagon we may never know, but God was protecting our President, First Lady and Vice President. How must the President have felt when he visited the rescue workers at the Pentagon, knowing that that jet 'bomb' was meant for him? The combination of humble thankfulness, grief and rage must have been overwhelming.

I am just so very grateful that George W. Bush is in the Whitehouse as President. I can't imagine how much more horrible this would all be if we had Al Gore et al. in the Whitehouse.

I believe God put Dubya in office for such a time as this. It's a sad, terrible day, but with God's help, we will survive this.

It will be even more sad when the funerals begin in New York and Washington. It is very difficult for those who have not found their loved ones. It's so much like Oklahoma City in that regard, only on a much larger scale, of course.

I've been to the OKC Bombing Memorial and when you look around the room and see 168 pictures of all the dead it really is a heart-wrenching thing. Now imagine muliplying that by 100 or more. It's just hard to conceptualize.

So right about Clinton, you know he says that the Oklahoma City bombing saved his presidency. HIs poll numbers were way down, then came the tragedy and his actions during it made his poll numbers go back up
Sadly, the media is comparing President Bush's actions during this crisis to Clinton who they praise for his feeling your pain performance. They say the President has to go out and be seen, he has to go before the cameras, he has to go to NY, and on and on.
We have a President with an entirely different style, one some of us prefer, yet the media does not want him to be himself, they want the rock star President. I don't want that kind of leader personally, who only uses each incident as a photo op. President Bush is doing his job, not pandering to the media. That is what we need right now, a strong man, not an Elvis impersonator with phoney hugs and tears.

Rintense....thanks for the pictures. I needed to see these.

May God forgive us our sins, may He help us and guide us through this horrible atrocity, may He give our leaders, ALL of them, the wisdom and strength needed to take care of our country.

Amen, Rose! What an immense burden God has placed on him, but what a divine "compliment" to George W. Bush that God knows that he will be faithful to his Lord and has trusted him with this great mission!

We must lift him up in prayer as never before!

Thank you Rintense for the pictures tonight. The pain on the Presidents face is something I will not soon forget, and hope I never see again.
Our hearts are heavy for him, and our prayers are with this man who has the weight of the world upon his shoulders.

I am not sure how many of you witnessed the prayer session held by Congress, A Senate security officer sung "Amazing Grace" and I don't think I have ever heard it sung any better. It was moving to say the least
