God bless them all and reward them for their courage and selflessness in the face of certain death. A new generation of heroes for our youth.

My martial arts instructor always said that in time of stress, you revert to your level of training. 'They give medals to those who rise to the occasion.' Sounds like there are some medals owed here.

This brought tears to my eyes. I have heard that the problem with America is that we don't have hero's anymore. Lets remember these brave souls

Does a "ramp pass" mean you can drive onto the runway or what?

The headlines on September 12th '01 should have read " Four pilots on separate flights shoot and kill 20 hijacker terrorists, armed with knives and box cutters"

I think it was clear it was a suicide mission, as they weren't armed with guns.So a standoff on the ground was impossible, and just how could they maintain control with only knives, for an extended period of time? That would have told me that no matter what, you're dead.So you have nothing, at all, to lose in trying to take control of the flight. As a passenger, that would have the rung the bells immediately for me.Die fighting, or die in a crash, but by fighting, maybe have a chance to land the plane with a wonded pilot or help from air traffic controllers.A chance, but better than nothing.

I would have grabbed a PC, briefcase and jacket and stormed them.It may sound 20/20, but no guns present, no chance to make it all.

Heroes one and all.

We all owe them a debt we cannot repay.

They are now with Our Lord knowing that they served him well here on earth. Their story leads me back to Psalm 23's final verse, "and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

You're not a little suspicious that our favorite network CNN gets a scoop like this? I am. It's too neat and tidy.

Fred, Ted Olson reportedely told his wife Barbara about the WTC crashes during her 2nd phone call to him.
He understandably wanted her to know that she and all on board were in grave danger.
He debated not telling her, but said that they had always shared everything.
It makes perfect sense to me that family members of any of these victims would do the same.

I'd nominate these men for the Medal of Honor.

I dont know if civilians can get the Medal, but these ought to, since they were defending their nation against an act of war, and fulfilled the Medal's requirements in every way imaginable. Their courage and refusal to quit, is the only solace I have been able to take from yesterday's events.

And probably as soon as the pilot realized he was doomed, dove it into the ground. The Pentagon plane was very low, my aunt & uncle said it flew over their house in Annandale at a very low altitude, and this might have been the case too. They may have had no time to pull up the plane if they took out the pilot.

Glick and Burnett both said in their calls the people on board knew of one or more attacks on the World Trade Center, evidently from the other phone calls.
I read this article with a little skepticism. This sentence made me realize that this article is contrived. I know they are trying to serve a purpose, but I just don't believe most of it.
Good grief. You need rest. Fine, you don’t believe it, but this sentence provides no evidence the article is contrived, or that the passengers didn’t act.

Well you think clearer and faster than most of us. In part that is human nature. We don't want to confront the worst case scenario that with cold logic and inferential reasoning is staring us in the face, until hard facts force us to. If the passengers knew about the WTC, or had been told by the hijackers what the plan was, as an earlier report, perhaps erroneous, suggests, then it becomes undeniable.
