Are we fighting terrorism or are we picking up where the Crusades left off?

And when we're done do we have pick up where the Inquisition left off as well, because certain Christians continue to be persecuted?

"I was showing the comparison between their sacred writings."

You haven't shown any such thing except a particularly nasty penchant for the liberal tactic of equivocating between Christianity and Islam.

Go to Democrats Underground where they'll appreciate your fallacious arguments.

It seems to me that the "appease the jihadist crowd" hates these posts like satan hates Holy Water, for a very good reason.

They do not want this reality known, so they want these threads pulled ASAP every time.

Well keep on posting them, and satan can go to hell.

"Are we fighting terrorism or are we picking up where the Crusades left off?"

Whatever works to keep what happened last Tuesday from happening again is fine with me.

You, on the other hand, sound like one of those hand-wringing liberals during Vietnam that didn't want us to prosecute that war.

Whatever.

Thank you for this post

I must admit that I am not a student of ISLAM, I am however a sincere follower of the PERSON of Jesus Christ.

The strenghth of ANY "religion" lies not within its teachings, BUT rather in the PEOPLE who claim to be its "FOUNDERS".

My hope is built on nothing less than JESUS CHRIST and HIS righteousness. Not of works that I have done, but on the FINSHED work of Christ, God's Only Son.

It's pretty late where I am. And I'm not that interested. Why don't you go here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here for a start.

I'm not an atheist, and I don't vouch for any of these sites, but if you examine some of them, you'll see what can be done with selective quotations.

Our Western monotheisms began with angry and jealous Gods. Islam, Christianity and Judaism have more in common than some would have you believe.

I suspect the underlying feeling from most of the "appease the jihadists" here is not unlike that of the liberals trying to placate the commies: "If we're nice to them, and not say anything bad about them, maybe they'll be our friends."

Well, folks, Ronald Reagan had the balls to call the Soviet union "The Evil Empire," which consequently caused many a liberal to wet their pants.

If the Soviet Union was the "Evil Empire" and they never fired a shot at us in anger, what does that make Islam, which has just killed thousands of our own people in our own country?!?

Islam is the new "evil empire" and we had better get used to that, or we're going to be seeing a lot more incidents like those last Tuesday!

And let the hand-wringers and pants-wetters here go somewhere else if they don't like this kind of speech.

WE ARE AT WAR!!!

More in common, except for one thing, Mohammad did not die for me...and Jesus the Messiah did. Judaism is the root of Christianity.

I'm sure that what happened in Lebanon is OK so long as the soldiers took only the blood type they needed, eh?

You have to prove that this actually happened. The ball is in your court. Maybe you'll have time after you've looked up the bible quotation sites I sent you.

If you think about it a minute, the existence of different bloodtypes makes this story highly improbable. If you think about it. If you think.

If you lost relatives or friends in the towers or elsewhere to terrorists, I'm sorry. That might explain.

Just a question. Do the Islanic fundamentalists kill a million and a half of their own children in the womb each year?

NO - they wait till they're about 6 or 7 and then they give them a little plastic key "to heaven" and send them out into the mine fields. Or they give them guns and tell them to go and shoot the Jews.

One could find quotes in the Bible that express similar ideas.

It would be safe to say that virtually no Christian of today, at least, holds any Jihadish doctrine, where man has to coerce man into allegiance to their faith. The Catholic Church has disavowed their Inquisition; the Orthodox Church never believed in it; and it is not found in the New Testament, which is the basis of the Protestant denominations, except possibly for the period after Christ returns (and so far He hasn't).

The story is a bit different with some of the extreme forms of Judaism. The Old Testament/Torah speaks of Jewish conquests of the future for the Land of Israel, and some Jews think that is for right now while others say no, wait for the Messiah who is yet to come. However that is pretty much limited to Israeli-Arab fighting in the Middle East and internecine feuds within Judaism (it could be questioned whether the USS Liberty incident with America also reflected that spirit, but that's a debate for another day).

Islam has a Jihad for here and now hardcoded into their Koran.

P.S. in the case of Protestant Christianity, even after the return of Christ, there never is a coercion of faith, though there is a cleanout of nonbelievers through an agency which is not completly specified, though it includes angels, under authority of Christ.

Here's a snippet from the book The Holy Prophet:

11.15] Whoever desires this world's life and its finery, We will pay them in full their deeds therein, and they shall not be made to. suffer loss in respect of them.

[11.16] These are they for whom there is nothing but fire in the hereafter, and what they wrought in it shall go for nothing, and vain is what they do.

[11.17] Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe.

[11.18] And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah? These shall be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses shall say: These are they who lied against their Lord. Now surely the curse of Allah is on the unjust.

[11.19] Who turn away from the path of Allah and desire to make it crooked; and they are disbelievers in the hereafter.

[11.20] These shall not escape in the earth, nor shall they have any guardians besides Allah; the punishment shall be doubled for them, they could not bear to hear and they did not see.

[11.21] These are they who have lost their souls, and what they forged is gone from them.

[11.22] Truly in the hereafter they are the greatest losers.

[11.23] Surely (as to) those who believe and do good and humble themselves to their Lord, these are the dwellers of the garden, in it they will abide.

ALMS

[107.1] Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?
[107.2] That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness,
[107.3] And does not urge (others) to feed the poor.
[107.4] So woe to the praying ones,
[107.5] Who are unmindful of their prayers,
[107.6] Who do (good) to be seen,
[107.7] And withhold the necessaries of life.

Is it any more intolerant than the Christian that tells people of other faiths that if they do not accept Jesus as Savior they will go to He%%?

That's intolerant too.
