Our National Anthem---the Other Prophetic Verses
The War of 1812 was fiercely raging when Francis Scott Key, a Washington attorney was sent to the British naval command to secure the release of a prisoner when the fleet began to bombard the placements of American fortifications in Baltimore at Fort McHenry. Key had to watch in agony, wondering if his nation could possibly withstand such a barrage.
Though the battle raged through the night, the American defenses stood firm. The sight of the flag still flying over the fort the next morning inspired the young lawyer to pen the immortal words of the Star Spangled Banner, on September 14,1814.
Though the first verse of the anthem is well known, sung at the opening of most political and sporting events, the other verses are almost entirely unknown:
O! say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilights last gleaming:
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
Oer the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming,
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
O! say, does the star-spangled banner still wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mist of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, oer the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream
'Tis the star-spangled banner, O! long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is the band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country would leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave!
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O! thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the foes desolation;
Blessd with victory and peace, may our heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
THEN CONQUER WE MUST, FOR OUR CAUSE IT IS JUST
AND THIS BE OUR MOTTO "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST!"
AND THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER IN TRIUMPH SHALL WAVE
O'ER THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE.

Too weird. My dad just told me to read the final verse of the Star Spangled Banner as it was most appropriate to our current situation. Thanks and BTTT!

Thank you to every Freeper who stands for truth and honesty and decency. Because of people like you and others at FR who extend kindness and hope and truth even to those they do not know, our nation grows stronger and will not crumble, not at the hands of corruption, not at the hands of cowardice, not at the hands of terrorists.
"Henceforth, I call you friends...."(John 15)
A friend recently told me: "If you love the truth, then know that some things in this life are more valuable than life itself."
the hour is come." (John 12)
God bless you and may our prayers keep us all in His will.

Too weird. Not weird. It's God. If you listen, you will hear. He speaks to all, often with the same words.
God bless you. LOL, LGE

I would infinitely rather [die] at the hand of the executioner than desert at the crisis the sacred cause of my country." I cannot count the times since this tragedy happened, that I wish I was of the age to be accepted to join our Armed Services. There are very few things I would be " willing" to die for and my country is surely one of them, and this is certainly one of "those times".

You are a brave and honorable person. God bless you. But you can also do a great deal without being in the Armed Forces. Let your patriotism be known and stand for the truth. That will make a difference to your peers. I have two teenagers and they have a new found respect for patriots. By supporting and honoring those that do have to fight, we can be their most valuable weapon. There is no greater force or weapon on earth than the power of words. God bless you and give you the wisdom to make yours count.

A new verse for the Star Spangled Banner has been written. Its called the prophecy verse. For those unfamiliar with the prophecies about America... Were supposed to experience plague, earthquake, nuclear strikes, invasion by a coalition of nations, destruction of our military and our government, and brutal occupation. All of this, according to the prophecies, is ordained by God as a judgement on our national sin.
However thats not the end of it. American guerillas never give up, and eventually, divine intervention strengthens their hand, breaking the occupation and bringing victory. These prophecies are all over the internet, you can read them elsewhere. Interestingly, Red Dawn (1984) was supposedly based in part on one of them, which leads some folks to call this coming conflict, the Red Dawn War.
Anyway....without further adieu...
STAR SPANGLED BANNER PROPHECY VERSE
- Inspired by the war prophecies of George Washington, Sarah Hoffman, Chuck Youngbrandt et al.
- Not to be sung publicly til after the war...
Oh say can you see, by the savage red dawn,
The long-prophesied war, and our lands devastation?
For Gods judgement is just, yet His mercy lives on,
In the remnant preserved, for restoring the nation.
With our government gone, our guerillas fought on
And victory came, when the Lord made them strong
And the star spangled banner, by Gods grace shall wave,
Oer the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
Print it out, save it in your survival stash, just in case....
