Bill's Recovery Plan (Clinton takes rescue workers' food)
New York Daily News ^ | 9/23/01 | Rush & Molloy

Posted on 09/23/2001 3:39:27 PM PDT by NYCVirago

Bill Clinton went to the NBA Store at 52nd St. and Fifth Ave. Friday, then on to Rockefeller Plaza. "He was doing what he hopes all America will do," says a source close to the former president. "Shop."

He also hasn't forgotten about eating. We hear that, when he visited Ground Zero last week, Clinton grabbed one of the sandwiches that restaurateur David Bouley delivered.

It's bad enough living in New York through this nightmare, but having the Clintons hogging the spotlight is too much. How shameless can one be to take food meant for rescue workers? I won't say that X42 has reached a new low, as he always manages to find a way to do something more outrageous, but this is pretty bad.

What a Focking freeloader. He freeloaded off the country for eight years now he is freeloading off the rescue workers and those donating food for the rescue workers.

If I were in the area delivering food, I think I would carry an Ex-Lax brownie, separate, but with the rest of the food for the next visiting pol that got the urge to take a rescue worker's meal. (Here -- take this. It's just for you.)

Just when you think you've seen the last of his sorry butt, there it is on camera again.

Don't former presidents try to stay out of the public imagery after leaving office? If not, it should be a rule.

Maybe one better here. I was watching the memorial service at Yankee stadium and did not see our A- hole ex- president waving a flag like almost everyone else. Maybe I just didn't catch it.It looked like he was looking for camera's......feed back on this.

This story gets me so angry. You have firefighters and policemen and EMTs working literally around the clock to find their fallen brothers. Restauranteurs around here have donated time, money, and food to help these rescuers, since these guys can't exactly go run out of Ground Zero for a snack. And then you have Bill Clinton taking their food! What's next -- is he going to hang out by a Red Cross truck to scarf up orange juice and donuts?

I don't think there were any reports of missing watches from shops and attempts to break in ATM's in the WTC ruins untill after the Clintons photo op visits.

And did you notice when the Orthodox Greek Priest asked everyone to join hands in prayer, Clinton's left hand was on his knee?..........Maybe the African American sitting to his left refused to hold his dirty hand...Or maybe that was Clinton's way of 'breaking the chain' of prayer. What a pitiful excuse for a human being.

American tax payers have fed, clothed and housed his familly for years now, as well as allowed him to steal the country and the world blind -- why should it change now?

If Bill Clinton would stay out of the spotlight right now,(like Al Gore is doing, for example) instead of acting like America's first ambulance chaser, there's be no reason to say anything. But as long as X42 keeps showing his mug around, stealing rescue workers' food, and acting inappropriately at prayer services, he's got every right to be criticized.

What in the world are you talking about? What office does Clinton hold right now? What reason is there for him to be at the rescue effort, other than self-aggrandizement?

He was there because the people WANTED him there. They were wildly enthusiastic about HIM AND HILLARY no matter how loudly you might deny it. May you be mourned as much as the victims are. Soon.

Yeah, and I bet the "Hardest Working President in History" didn't do a lick of work in return for the sammich either.

Say, he didn't go down into the WTC basements, did he? I heard some watches and stuff had been looted from shops down there....

Skydiving!!! I love it that my son thinks his mommy can fly...I like going to the beach in Ventura County, watching whales and feeding the seals (and the surfers); Catalina Island in the winter, when only the year-rounders are there; Anne McCafferty dragon stories; September in Vermont!

First she quotes Vonnegut on atheism, then she tells us she has reproduced. Euuuch!

He obviously has no one to look after him, ie, cook his food or make him breakfast or lunch. Since he probably gets up at noon or so, he just hops in the shower and hopes to God that someone will ask him to appear somewhere that day. Obviously, that somewhere will have food, since he is too poor to buy any.

Let's be more thorough about this:

Skydiving!!!

...needs extraordinary means to feel euphoria...

I love it that my son thinks his mommy can fly...I like going to the beach in Ventura County,

...elitist...

watching whales and feeding the seals (and the surfers);

...animal rights whacko...

Catalina Island in the winter, when only the year-rounders are there;

...feels need to reassure herself of her superiority...

Anne McCafferty dragon stories;

...witch...

September in Vermont!

...Ah, Vermont. Home of gay marriage and traitorous senators...

Virago, ordinarilly I'm very tolerant of liberal idiots and the idiocy they spew here at FR. I've never advocated nuking anyone's account because I believe strongly in free speech, BUT, deaths threats are over the line. Were I you I'd notify Jim Rob at once of this incident. In addition, I believe someone should notify the police.....

As much as I detest Clinton, I'll admit that he has his worshippers and if his appearing with the Republicans now helps us be a united country, I think there is some purpose in him being there. We must be united, we are fighting for our lives and for our country. Even if he did much wrong, maybe for some people, he's helping now to help them give Bush their support.

I am no fan of billy jeff, but millions of people are and they might receive comfort or joy from seeing him there. He doesn't belong there in my opinion, but apparently many feel differently. I also highly doubt he "stole" a sandwich. I would imagine it was offered to him by the delivery man. Many people down in the trenches were probably honored to have lunch with the ex-president of the United States. The rescue workers need whatever comfort and cheer they can get, I haven't heard of any of them walking away or refusing to shake his hand.

That said, billy jeff should go down and help plan his library and get the heck out of NY.
