Clinton Haunted by Failure to Get bin Laden

Acting like a man who knows he has much to answer for, ex-president Bill Clinton is seeking out anyone and everyone who will listen to explain that the World Trade Center disaster that killed 7,000 Americans wasn't his fault.

After telling Fox News Channel's Brian Kilmeade, NBC's Tom Brokaw and countless private audiences over the last two weeks that he did everything he could to nail prime suspect Osama bin Laden, Clinton has taken to accosting total strangers on the street to offer his excuses.

One such New Yorker is Saul Finkelstein, who says he was corralled by the suddenly guilt-ridden ex-prez Saturday while out for a bike ride with his sons.

For a full 15 minutes the ex-Commander-in-Chief unburdened himself to Finkelstein, who reported the episode to the Washington Post's Lloyd Grove.

"In 1998, the U.S. Navy launched a series of cruise missile attacks," Clinton insisted to the stranger. "We missed him by an hour."

He seemed to want the passerby to understand that if President Bush succeeds where he failed, it won't be because Bush tried any harder.

"The president can't say this," Clinton reportedly explained, "but it will not be that difficult to get bin Laden [today] because unlike in 1998.... the U.S. will have the cooperation of surrounding countries."

By comparison, he said, his task was more difficult because he had to "fight this guy from 1,000 miles away."

The bottom line, Finkelstein said, was that Clinton wanted him to understand that "what happened on Sept. 11 could in no way be traced to some failure on his administration's part."

sinkEmperor is running from the truth he's afraid the American people are going to discover about him, so he lies and layers a few more lies on top of that, and enlists liberal pukes to pass his crap along to the public. X42 set this nation up for the 9/1 horror as sure as if he had consulted with bin Whataload, and his criminal enterprise party aided abd abetted him in order to increase their money and power. This rewriting history with the sycophantic crap like written in this article must be exposed for the bullsh!t it is and rejected every time it arises. Bill Clinton is a traitor. Never forget.

Pathetic is the only word that comes to mind. And he "unburdens himself" to a guy with a last name straight out of a Borscht Belt joke book. Yow!

"If you took Sammy Sosa off the Cubs, they would still win a lot of games."

And this guy is supposed to be intelligent; what an asswipe! Too bad he didn't write his own speeches; that would have shortened his stay and our pain.

bin Laden probably felt sorry for the US during the Clinton reign; thought we were retarded, and had suffered enough with all of the Bubba bombing we'd been subjected to. He waited for someone he respected enough to hate to unleash hell.

"He gets the title shot outdoors in the ball park - and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palookaville… You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am. Let's face it…"

Oh, wise one...let us not forget the man who LEFT THE COUNTRY during the VietNam war, who "loathed the military," who gutted the military and dismantled U.S. intelligence and was getting a BJ from Monica at the very moment Yassar Arafat was waiting to meet with him in the Rose Garden.

What about the time, right after Waco, when he passes the buck and said, "You better ask Janet Reno about that."

Perhaps you need a refresher course on American History since January 20th, 1993.

I'm not making an opinion on what he did right or wrong, I'm not saying he's a good or bad pres, I'm just making the point that this act couldn't have been the fault of one man... besides what about the people that took away our human intelligence? That scares me more then knowing our leader is getting sucked off in the oval office.

The IMPEACHED ex-42 has better things that should haunt him - Juanita Broaddrick comes to mind, as do secrets sold to the Chinese for starters.

I just WISH he'd SHUT UP and go away!

What about the failures of the FAA and INS during his regime? They literally sat on their hands and did nothing to ensure "domestic tranquility." Personally, I'm loving seeing Bubba scurry from audience to audience, desperate to explain his failures. Poetic justice, actually.

Clinton isn't haunted by anything. I truly believe he has NO conscience at all, no heart and no soul. He just knows people have found out he messed up BIG time not getting Osama and is worried about his PR.

Thanks JeanS.

One cannot speak harshly enough about this man. He did anything and everything in his power to destroy America.

He should have been tried, convicted and hung for his crimes. He should not be walking among us. He defiles the ground he walks on. He's the lowest of low, the sleeziest of sleeze. He'd be more at home living in a septic tank, or the NYC sewer system, than walking among free people.

I pray that I outlive him so I can urinate on his grave.

You could say that Clinton is pathetic. You could say that he is a consumate liar. You could say that he is trying to save his "legacy". But the simple fact is, Clinton is irrelevant.

Abdulrahman Alamoudi, the American citizen, is related to the Arabic Al-Amoudi that is the USS Cole terrorist funder, and the Bin Laden funder!

Bill and Hill hired this American Alamoudi to work in the State Department!

He may still be there!

The Clintons aided and abetted the terrorists of Bin Laden!

Lets have a trial for treason!

I think this is the most positive thing I've read about Clinton in the past year or so. It suggests the poor fellow really does have a conscience after all.

*snort*

What it actually suggests is that he's desperately trying to salvage what's left of his already battered "legacy". It was bad enough, he thought, that he was going to be forever remembered as the president who got oral sex in the Oval Office, then lied about it under oath.

Now he's facing sinking even deeper, to be remembered as the president who got oral sex while terrorists made their plans, and who perhaps is the single person most responsible for the American failure to head this tragedy off at the pass.

Unlike the old days, when he was able to issue national press releases for his self-aggrandizing spin, he's now reduced to buttonholing people on the streets and doing his "I'm greater than it would appear" speech one American at a time.

Pitiful.

The fact is, Clinton risked the security of the nation to devote 100% of his energies (in 1998) to lieing through his teeth and fighting impeachment.

Had he (#42) steped aside when he was exposed as a discrase to all things American, Al Gore would have had the political capitol to devote to going after Bin Laden. In fact, I would venture a guess that Al Gore would have been chomping at the bit for an international event (like a coalition against Bin Laden) to draw attention away from domestic issues.
