>>>"Discussions for what? Do they think Jesse has influence?" Discussions for what? Do they think Jesse can talk?<<

He's on a fundraiser. That's the source of his money that O'Reilly has been trying to uncover;-)

I think we ought to send over both Jesse Jackson and Michael Jackson. And hope the Taliban hold them hostage.

Along with other commenters... I'll just say 'Who the hell is Jesse Jackson to the Taliban anyway?"

Since when does some sleazy so-called Christian preacher gain an audience with a bunch of terrorists in the middle-east? Well, of course those are Jackson's kind of people... thugs, extortionists... Jesse's tactics involve threats of protests, etc. The Taliban works by killing thousands of innocents... whatever works, right Jesse?

He should remember what happened to Terry Waite.

He went to the middle east to negotiate with terrorist, and was taken hostage and held for the next four years.

If Jackson wanted to sabotage the Presidents efforts, he couldn't find a better way. If he is taken hostage (and he probably will be) it would undermine support for military action amoung those who worship the ground Jackson walks on.

That didn't stop Hanoi Jane! By the way, she should go along too. This time maybe the CIA can give her a very special camera to record the event. :)

"Um, Jane, don't turn the camera on until you are in the same room with rest of them. It's very important."

18 USC 953:

" Sec. 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

Ah, so this is the law that Jimmy Carter should have been prosecuted under when he went to North Korea to negotiate foreign policy on behalf of the United States with no official clearance. Actually, his "negotiations" consisted of outlandish promises that not even Clinton could agree to. Now that's going some!! During Klinton's tenure, he gave away everything but the kitchen sink.

Brit Hume on Fox was discussing Jackson's statement with his panel. They did show a video clip of Jackson saying that the Taleban had invited him to come over to talk. Mort Kondrake mentioned that there was a law, (sorry it was a while ago and I can't remember the name of the law...Help?) - Anyway, the law was enacted to prevent private citizens from acting as a foreign diplomat on behalf of the U.S. Government without their permission.

So yes, there is a law. He would have to get permission. I can just see this moron chaining himself to a tent or a camel to stop the U.S. from bombing Afghanistan. Like I said last night when this first came up on Hardball, if Jackson had so much of a hair on his head injured we would have race riots in the street here. Every idiot follower of his would be blaming President Bush. They cannot allow him to go.

Tell me something I don't know, all right? Ali and Jabbar have said nothing negative about our nation during this time. Absolutely nothing.

Farrakhan is a hate-filled minister, for sure. However, I watched his statement after the act of war and he flatly condemned those involved.

I don't have to agree with someone's religious views, but I will respect them as people if they espouse correct sentiments, which Ali and Farrakhan have done.

As to where I fit, well, let's just say that I've got the blood.

"Ah, so this is the law that Jimmy Carter should have been prosecuted under when he went to North Korea to negotiate foreign policy on behalf of the United States with no official clearance."

One could argue that Jimmy ("Neville Chamberlain") Carter was opeating under color of authority, since Clinton sort of asked him to go.

Jesse Jackson's case is much more straightforward. Someone (or lots of someones, hint...hint) should remind Mr. Ashcroft of this statute...

What else is new? Maybe he and Sharpton intend to stage a few more rent-a-mob Anti-American protests.

If they keep him as a human shield, lets pretend we don't know anything about it.
If they ask for ransom, make them pay us instead.
Jessie has to use his own plane.
He has to take Sharpton with him.
Just in case, the virgin reward will have to be Hillary if he screws us.

You realize the only reason this would be floated is so that the "Let's Roll" clock would be again reset until after Jesse does his visit, comes home, does the talk shows for a weekend, talks it up so that when we go in, as we have to anyway, the media spins it as "Bush rejects peace mediation."

Time honored strategy for these types. Jesse should be denied authorization to speak to the Taliban immediately.

Divide and conquer.
Either it's a Clinton plan to politically hurt Bush by using the race card AGAIN , or Jessie is lying just to get his face in front of the camera so his followers do not become too patriotic.
If the blacks begin to love America , one another, and their neighbor reguardless of color, Jessie and Hillary are out of a job.

Maybe Jesse Jackson can go over there and preach to them, of course he preaches about himself, but maybe they'll listen, at least till he starts asking for hand outs . Then it'll be either buh bye Jesse, or we'll get to see footage of all the Taliban and Bin Ladens groups doing cleansing rights as Jesse tha' pig stands around scratching his head .

By Jessies self serving actions, outright immoral lies and public displays of greed on TV, perhaps he's a Clinton-esque "Christian" Rev. . Other than that his title can also be held by any belief system out there .

He's scum, they deserve him, maybe he'll do something right and accept Christ before they kill'em . I can only see that happening because they'd be hitting a big target and it'd bring more mourning (not to me mind you) but some Americans his death would bring alot of sorrow .

Cheese .
