Where does fascism begin? Does it start at the top or the bottom? If a newspapers controls its articles to this degree, censorship is certainly an angle. And when criticism of government policy leads to firing, where does it lead?

Ok, so say you are at the office doing your job and you are speaking with some of your buddies and you slip out say a racial or sexist comment. Do you think you can be fired for that? Yes.

So say you see the woman in the next cubicle and say "Heya baby you sure are hot, lets go do it on the copier" Speech right? Do you think you can be fired for that? Yes.

I am confused as to why you think people working for newspapers or other news outlets cannot be fired for things that they say or write???

They are free to say whatever they want, true but their employer is also free to set them loose just like you or I can be let loose.

It happens so often I had to tell you about it LarryLier. I only check the name of the poster when the post is really good or really assinine. When its stupid and I look down I frequently see your name and that Hidy person. Just thought you'd like to know.

We should also support American companies that manufacture in the U.S. With the economic climate what it is today, we need to send a clear message to those that have exported our jobs by supporting those that haven't. That would include stock purchases.

Actually, that lady and her husband were from Illinois.
It happened, I believe, at an annual fest called "Taste of Chicago".
They took the couple to JAIL, and they were charged with threatening the president!!
They got them on a technicality...it was actually MONICA who....well, you know. ;)

The town no longer has a lumber industry. The EPA shut that down. Neither does Astoria. Oregon is headed for a recession because the technology jobs are all gone and the stupid California liberals have destroyed all other industry statewide. You reap what you sow, I'll be laughing my butt off watching all the cars driving South on I-5 with liberal Californians going home to look for jobs.
