Have you seen THIS photograph? Do you know WHO created it??
posted by ASA Vet on 9/28/2001
On Friday, September 28, nationally syndicated conservative talk host Hugh Hewitt described this photo on his radio show, citing FreeRepublic as his source, and giving credit to the post by ASA Vet in particular.
Since then, Hugh's webmistress, Lynne (the WebXena) has reported HUNDREDS of requests for a link to this photo, and has posted a link to a DIFFERENT FR THREAD, with an image posted by FReeper archy, on www.HughHewitt.com.
An earlier thread with this image was started by RaceBannon on 9/27/2001 at 12:30:59 PDT.
1 - Is there an EARLIER post of this image anywhere on Free Republic?
2 - Does anyone know who "Bob McCown" is?
(MOST images posted seem to have the name "Bob McCown" printed in the lower right-hand corner.)
3 - Who is the REAL creator of this masterpiece? (And, can you PROVE it?)
Thank you.

Just as the "SoreLoserman" graphic, which was popularized here by our own
Registered, gave FreeRepublic.com EXTRAORDINARY press coverage, perhaps we can also get some very good (free) PR from THIS photo, too.
I can find no earlier reference to it posted anywhere ELSE on the Internet. Can YOU?

Kudos to creator.

Hell yes!! I got done grieving by 12 Sept at noon. I want B-52 strikes on the smacks that just signed their own death-warrants. The B-52s that we have are great, but we should re-start production in record numbers.

I first saw this on a thread posted by Teacup, and saved it to send to my son. Then I noticed that "receive" was mispelled, and corrected all the type. Then I posted the corrected one on RaceBannon's thread.
This is not the one I corrected, although the type looks similar, it is not aligned with the airplane the same, and the name in the lower right corner is simply "Bob.". The image I saved was created on 9/25 at 12:28 pm. Maybe Teacup knows more.

I received an email the other day with a picture of an F117 Stealth with words "written" across the bottom of the plane that said, "If you can read this, you're F*$cked"......

Lots of great stuff at Registered's private site, but I can find no B-52 photo.
Am I missing it somewhere?

That's an actual photo of the tactical capabilities of the B-52H. Kinda scary.

The original, sans manipulated background and catchy banner, was originally posted on Pictures To Make You Feel Warm and Fuzzy Part II

That wasn't the first. I saved it to my hard drive on the 25th and created my corrected one on the 26th. I'm pretty sure it was on a thread by Teacup, but I can't find it.

Where are the Hound Dogs and the nukes, those all look like dumb bombs, with a couple of ALCM's for variety.

I've seen this picture at work (pentagon) for many years; many folks use this as their PC desktop wallpaper. The only change here is the text (which is great) and the origional background which is a series of buildings, hangers, water-tower, etc, which have been replaced here with the desert like sky. I'm sure this will replace many peoples PC wallpaper now! Good work whoever did it!

A full point extra credit if you can tell why b-52s are called BUFFs. Actually, it's BUF (no second 'F'); it's an acronym for ''Big Ugly Fornicator'', more or less. The Air Force has been trying to sell the bowlderized ''Big Ugly Fat Fellow'' for over thirty years.
Air Force PR types are wusses.

but we should re-start production in record numbers. That would be difficult since the last B-52 built came off the Wichita line in October of 1962.

When I was a B-52 mech I had a t-shirt with a graphic of a bomber unloading over some soon-to-be-toast target.
The caption read,
"Reach out and touch someone".The (PC) base commander banned it from being worn on the base.
Sure wish I still had that shirt.
To: SMEDLEYBUTLER
It might be hard but not impossible. We re-started production of the U-2, which became the TR-1. Screw the challenges, let's start production of the B-52!!!

Morning Glory, SMEDLEYBUTLER!
That will be my NEXT post:

Stay tuned. Perhaps tomorrow.
