Posted on 09/29/2001 6:39:21 PM PDT by clamper1797
Yes ...its true. I discovered today that I have been banned from DU(h) simply for the following ....
Replying to a post that was complaining that given the political atmosphere since 9-11 odds are that our country will probably have a Republican House, Senate, and President after the 2002 election. I replied ... one can only hope.
Posting in my profile that my profile could be viewed at www.freerepulic.com
Thank the stars we have such a bastion of freedom and free thought like DU(h)
Guess I'll have to go get banned too. =)
Did someone say DemocRATS?
You won't change any minds over there, but the bottom line is that they are not even interested in any dicussion of the facts or the issues. You either toe their line or you don't belong.
It's their site and they can do what they want with it. But they are simply unprepared to confront issues in any meaningful or factual way. They're Democrats, after all. They're not interested in facts and they are fearful of confrontation, and don't know any other way but to ban people who don't agree with them. I disagree with the way they run the site, but that is their choice. I figure that if someone is respectful they should be allowed to stay, but they obviously see it differently. They are overprotective of their beliefs without the courage to confront an alternative view.
I'm not sure if Jim Rob would ban a democrat or a liberal from this site who was respectful but assertive. But I see many diverse views here, and many people disagree a lot, and are very willing to challenge each other without getting banned. I don't think the folks at DU are up for real debate, freeper style.
Dems are nothing if not morally bankrupt and intellectually inconsistent.
Now watch some idiot DU lurker go running back to their pukey forum and complain that us mean Freepers laughed at them and their snotty rants and fascist thought control.
I'm betting that a lot of your fellow Clampers feel much the way you do. A cyber-Poker Run, with all of you continually logging in at DU, posting, then changing screen names as needed, would be a blast. You can even offer prizes for the most creative screen names, best posts, best comebacks, shortest time before being banned, etc.
Really I don't think we should mention it on FreeRepublic, they are a want to be FR but as they can't defend their Osama allegience they will just ban anyone with an intelligent or pro-American voice, therefore they will never attract an intelligent post. Let it die, don't even go back there.
Of course, don't they say that a good wit is evidence of the highest level of intelligence?
Somewhat correct...but, they're also eating their own...calling WSJ's Posner a jerk, a phony, etc., for saying he was wrong about Pres. Bush. (He wasn't an a55hole or a phony when he helped take out an ad in support of Gore back in Nov.) Any "wise" or "good" Pres. Bush decisions are being attributed to his team or to Powell; conversely, the decision not to return to DC immediately on 9/11 is being attributed ENTIRELY to Pres. Bush. Typical hypocrites. "Bush sneezed during XYZ press conference...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?" They are citing their DU posting guidelines about "personal attacks, etc." when you post something they don't like, but they are making personal attacks on Pres. Bush by calling him Chimp, etc. TYPICAL LIBERAL HYPOCRITE STUFF.
But tell your husband, I rather just have a slap on the back for doing good....:o) Stay Safe !
But I figured that freedom of thought and expression were ideals that the Democrats cherished. Even a 'normal' discussion of the facts is not allowed unless you agree with the leftist party line. For example, if you post information about Ng Lap Seng and his meetings with Clinton in the White House, you will get banned. But if you post information about Bush and the Oilmen, you are welcome.
Here, you can talk about Bush Sr and the cocaine conspiracy without being banned. You can't talk about Clinton and the cocaine conspiracy over there. That is the difference, and that is why this site flourishes with ideas and their site languishes in darkness. They are simply afraid of the truth, they are afraid to even look for the truth, if the truth will damage the credibility of their party. This site is not afraid of pursuing the truth, even if it will damage the party, because this site is about ideals and ideology, not party affiliation.
But what's most disturbing is that they hate ideas. They hate almost any idea that does not support their way of thinking, and they are going to ban anyone who supports an idea that is opposed to their philosophy. That is what makes them, and the Democratic party, very scary.
Bastion, maybe--but THOUGHT has little to do with the place, and the people inhabiting same.
All good Freepers get banned from DU.
I was banned about 6 or seven times so far. The latest ban was today. :-)
Here they, in such self righteous mode, complain about disappearing posts on FR as if posts there donn't get deleted for the simple crime of expressing an opposing point of view.
2) Go to DU and re-register new screen names for yourself, using your free email addresses.
3) FReep their archives. Pick out a thread(s) out of the many there, find arguments (lies) of theirs that you disagree with and post your rebuttals. Remember to stay civil. No foul language or name calling.
When you make a post on their archived threads, it doesn't get bumped to the top where everyone will see it and respond. The archived thread stays right where it is when you post on it and you get in the last word. Most likely, no one, not even the moderators, know you have done this and your posts probably won't get deleted.
In my limited time there, I never attacked anyone, I never called anyone any names, I always answered every question posited to me. I was called names, I was harassed, I was attacked with ad-hominems. Nevertheless, I was banned.
I didn't read the whole thing, but the 'open tags' were funny, somebody studied a few habits. (LetsRoll looks like a particular heavy posting finger FReeper I think we can all recognize!)
Hey, good to hear you on Radio Freerepublic the other night. Good job!
I've been banned 6 times, always returning using another browser mask utility. So far I've used up:
Check it out, you'll be banned for the mildest comment that does not follow their agenda, (it may take a day or two - their admin staff is small). It is fun, they really foam at the mouth. Still crying to re-counting the election, blame-America-firsters, anti-Iseral, etc.
They HATE and fear Freepers.
Those ladies are going to do really well, I'd like to see em go bigger and better on air versus web because they both come across as very well educated and very intelligent on current affair etc etc......
Good folks they are........and I hear they are very huggable, only a rumor though I'll have to confirm for myself some day (hopefully). Stay Safe HP !
Maybe the DU fascists will let Freepers back into the forum if we wear an identifying armband!
The thought police at DU are exceedingly intolerant of dissent.
FreeRepublic is a libertarian utopia compared to the censors over there.
Bottom line: DU members, with all their opinions, are at least tolerated here on FR.
The reverse is not true.
DU is fascist, and they need to realize it...
You must play the part of your polar OPPOSITE!
Remember, a vast number of their membership are liberal, but they have their limit.
Play the part of a rabid COMMUNIST and do it with fervor! Spout off all the anti-capitalist rhetoric you can spew!...It'll re-define their website and convince the middle-of-the-road Democrats there that their party is falling off the face of the American landscape.
We call them communists and socialist, but we can't make the dent from HERE, can we?....Let them hear it on their own turf, for a change.
They'll get fed up and come to the conclusion that their party is too far gone for the mainstream.
Reverse psychology, folks.
FearForTheRepublic.com "A Warmongering News Forum"
Yeah, I saw that too, but look at who posted that link over at DU...........Eschoir!
For those who don't know who Eschoir was: Free Republic v. Aldridge:Federal Court Issues Permanent ...
You are a Patriot :-)
I got banned from DU 3 times in 1 day!
DU banning #1: For merely commenting on a pro-Bush article by Gerald Posner (a leftist.)
DU banning #2: For posting a paragraph of the Hitchens piece from the Nation.
DU banning #3: Well I was fed up by then and I gave them a piece of my mind.
Here's a DU posting hint: The thought police there check out your post while you are previewing it! Therefore if they see anything objectionable, they will ban you before it can even be posted.
Solution? Simply do all your editing in your word processor, then when it's ready, cut a paste it into their form and post it all in one fell swoop with no preview. Then, at least, the post will appear before you are banned, and believe me, you will be banned if you step out of the party line.
Anyway, the link above sends you to the message board they have on the site, and it won't take you long to find the anti-American sentiment there. Seems like this place could use a serious Freeper-Adjustment.
AAS - member since... umm, today. (howdy y'all!)
I do however have some running identities which is getting information out. There are ways to be effective on a site like DU.

Banned from Demoncratic Underground ... for just being a Freeper
A fine badge of honor to have.
