Speaking of Gary, the show CSI (Crime Scene Investigators) last night seemed to have been taken right from the Chandra Levy case file. Instead of an intern, it was a missing college student and in place of the congressman, it was a college professor. The end was screwy though, just a stupid dumpster accident.

I wonder if the Metro police ever thought to check the dumpsters? Hmmmm?

Thanks for keeping the tragedy of Chandra Levy and her parents fresh in our memory while the nation's attention is focused on the terrorist events of 9/11.

P.S. Could you please consider toning down your use of "~ ~" and other ways in which your posts scream out at the reader. Sometimes I find myself skimming past your posts because the graphics are so off-putting, even though I sense that you have said something which would be of intrest to me. The end was screwy though, just a stupid dumpster accident.

I enjoyed it. It was a good alternative explanation to what might have happened and what sometimes happens in real life: a series of unrelated events converge in a single moment to cause a tragedy. Who's to say that on Chandra's last day at her apartment, she didn't fall down into the garbage chute while dumping her last bit of trash? It could happen.

A college student disappeared from her dorm on her last night on campus. She called a cab but never went out to get it. It was a dark and stormy night. Red herrings include the college professor and the school jock who raped the missing girl's friend. The body is found in compacted trash squares in a warehouse.

The CSI team wonders how the girl ended up in the dumpster. An autopsy shows a crushed spleen from blunt force trauma. They find flecks of car paint on the dumpster and track down the Jeep Cherokee driver. The driver says he cut through campus because his wife was home in labor. He swerved through the rain and sideswiped a dumpster but he's sure he didn't hit anybody.

The CSI team empties some trash down the dorm trash chute and the faulty bin door snaps at the girl emptying the trash. They surmise that the dead girl accidentally dropped the trash can down the chute then went outside to get it. The girl must have started to climb into the dumpster to retrieve her trash can and been leaning into the dumpster by her waist when the guy in the Jeep Cherokee sideswipes the dumpster, knocking it into the wall, crushing the girl's spleen and her lifeless body falls into the dumpster where it remains until the trash truck empties the dumpster and compacts her into a bundle of refuse. End of story.

What a shameless act of insensitive political opportunism to take personal advantage of the WTC disaster to advance his political fortune. What a cowardly act to make these plans for his political comeback when the press and all other observers are mourning the tremendous loss. WHAT Condit did should be called what it is-dispicable, cowardly, insensitive opportunism. When we get our composure back he should be made to answer for THIS TOO, in addition to Chandra's disappearance.
