The Brady Boomers - The 'Tween Generation - Thread 2

Posted on 10/05/2001 10:06:56 PM PDT by WIMom

Most who were born at the tail end of the baby boom

- 1956 to 1964 or the beginning of GenX - 1965 to 1970 -

feel we are not part of those generations.

Therefore, it has been decided, we will be forever know as

THE BRADY BOOMERS

  1. We were too young to serve in Vietnam, but remember the news.

  2. As far as we're concerned, the music, television and popular entertainment and heroes of the 60s were and still are a matter for personal taste, and don't represent the shining apex of all civilization, icons to be revered by generations to come - in short, the Beatles were just a band that some might not like, and old Trek was cheesy and not well written.

  3. Old boomers came into adulthood at while we were playing with Barbies or G.I. Joes.

  4. Our clothes and music tended to be lighthearted, and we are more conservative/libertarian as a whole than the older boomers.

  5. And of course, we faithfully watched The Brady Bunch every Friday night.

BRADY TRIVIA QUESTIONS

  1. How many rooms were in the Brady Bunch's home?
  2. What was Carol's nickname?
  3. What was Mike's occupation?
  4. How many kids were auditioned for the cast of the tv show?
  5. In one episode, Bobby lied about knowing a pro football player. Who?
  6. Where did the back door in the kitchen lead to?
  7. Name the Elementary, Jr. High & High Schools that the kids attended
  8. How much did Greg's first car cost?
  9. What was the name of the family's pet sheepdog?
  10. What was the name of the rarely seen next door neighbors on the tv show?
  11. Which Little House on the Prairie cast member appeared on the Brady Bunch?
  12. What item in the back yard was never used once throughout the series?

Aside from the appearance of Joe Namath, what other Football figure made a cameo in the Brady series? How much reward did the Brady kids get for returning a lost wallet containing over 1100 dollars? How much salary did Sam offer Greg to work as his delivery boy? What was the minimum wage then in real life? What did Greg plan on doing with the money he earned in that episode? Who was Marcia's first love and what was his hobby? What was the name of Jan's real and imaginary boyfriend? How much reward did Peter get from the newspaper for saving a girls life?

Anyone else notice that the interior architecture didn't match the exterior shots? Start with that stupid colored-glass window above the door to his study(in the picture with the staircase).

OMG, please let me know. I don't want to be too broad. In fact, I'm not a broad at all.

But, if you're kicking out 1956, then I'll leave with dignity, grace and a virtual chip on my shoulder. LMAO.

Remember when Mike installed the pay phone?

I've been to Roswell and I returned. It is a bit strange out there but I didn't see nary an alien, 'cept them there kind from south of the border.

I wonder, does the flashlight have to be turned on for em to appear? next time I'll dim the headlights.

What's the question? I think that was one of the ones I hated most. Never really cared for the whole last season. Bobby dreamed of being an astronaut and dreamed he met aliens. Greg faked a UFO by putting out a some clear plastic sheet (like a shower curtain) and flashing a flashlight on it (that had a UFO shaped cut-out over the light.)

Born in 1961, and I never learned the slide rule. I was the first one in my high school to have an HP 25 scientific calculator, though. It cost around $200 back then. My current HP 32S II cost about $65, and it's about one-third as thick, with much more capability.

On the music front, I have Simon and Garfunkel's "Bookends" on 8-track, vinyl, and now CD.

The show I was thinking about was when the boys rigged up something to scare the girls and the girls got back at them by hanging a sheet outside their window and had a hidden tape recorded in the attic that played spooky music.

110. "Out of This World"

Original airdate: January 18, 1974
Directed by Peter Baldwin
Written by Al Schwartz and Larry Rhine

Former astronaut James McDivitt, the man who saw a UFO in space, guest stars on Paramount Television's "The Brady Bunch."

In "Out of This World," Bobby and Peter camp out in the backyard, looking for UFOs. After they meet General McDivitt, the boys are convinced that they have spotted one while in their backyard and go back to camp out there the next night with camera to prove it.

Bobby dreams of a UFO landing in hs backyard, meeting the little kaplutians, and taking a ride in the UFO.

Peter wakes him up to let him know that the UFO is back, they take pictures, get an Air force General to come over and look at the pics. While this is going on, we learn that Greg is the "UFO", creating all this just to play a hoax on Peter and Bobby.

David "Deacon" Jones. It was the episode where Peter was nervous about joining the glee club.

No, but the boys thought it was. Anyway, they all decided to scare Mike and Carol, and broke something really fancy. Of course, they all got grounded.
