I am quite pleased that FReepers Luis Gonzales and Mercuria have started two very nice threads as memorials to CHIEF negotiator and our other fallen FRiends.
For Luis' thread, "The bugler's call--A Tribute to CHIEF negotiator," mash this.
Mercuria's excellent thread, "HAIL TO THE CHIEFS" GOLDEN BWAHA MEMORIAL AWARD: CHIEF NEGOTIATOR AND BCM - R.I.P., WITH LOVE," can be found right here.
Thank you, Luis and Mecuria, for caring about our departed FReeper FRiends.

We have nearly $3,000.00 for Mrs. Chief. I will get them input to the machine and get a check out to her by Monday.
Thank you Freepers. Your generosity humbles me.

A sad year indeed, there was RMDupree's cousin, shot at work.
Thank you very much for your help in this regard, BADJOE. I know that Belinda will be able to use the money.

Nothing would please me more than to be able to be there, but I can't.
You're going to have to stand in for me, my friend.
Please convey my deepest, heartfelt prayers and love to Herb's precious family---especially Belinda.
Also, give my regards and sympathy to the wonderful folks at AFT...they have experienced a huge loss too.
Please let them know that those of us out here in the trenches take increased devotion from Herb's life and example. Together we will win this fight for our posterity's future liberty and prosperity.
Safe travels to you, Frank. You are at the top of my prayer list right now as well.

Someone murdered our friend.

Trust me, Belinda and her family will know that they are not alone!

Wish I could be there, CHIEF. You were admired by many. Rest in peace.
Thanks for posting that. I've viewed it numerous times in the past few weeks and just watched it again. I realized something - I'm not done shedding tears....
CHIEF, your memory and passion for this country will be remembered and carried on. I salute you.

"Tell me this isn't true ... "
It has been reported on previous threads that the incident was being investigated as arson/homicide. There was also mention of an "accelerant".
That being said, I think we should refrain from donning our typical tin-foil hats and engaging in wild speculation. IMHO, it would probably be standard investigative procedure to treat any similar fire fatality as a POTENTIAL arson/homicide until the actual evidence proves otherwise. And an "accelerant" could be accidental ignition of any highly flammable, but very common, household substance: gasoline, kerosene, rubbing alcohol, paint thinner, fingernail polish remover, etc. etc.
While such events are sadly commonplace throughout America, I find it incredible that the Chief would be intentionally murdered. Let's give the authorities ample time to thoroughly conduct their investigation before jumping to conclusions.
I truly feel none of us are done with the tears.Soon, very soon though; as all grieving processes are, we will move on to justified anger -while- we are crying. I do not think this grief/tears; as a nation will ever go away even after justice is served.
Please give the CHIEF a salute for me on Monday.
Thank you Brother
To: Luis Gonzalez
What a extraordinary, beautiful tribute...My tears flowed unashamedly at the great losses we have witnessed these past weeks, may God have mercy on the departed souls, may they rest in Peace. They are home, it is up to us to fight the good fight so that at some date in the future we too will return home triumphantly to share eternity with our true God.

As I was crying for CHIEF negotiator and for Alamo-Girl's sister, I was also crying for Old Atlanta. I loved him so much. We used to carry on in the middle of the night somethin' awful. He was so funny. I sure do miss him. Thank you for remembering him.
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub; COB1
Thank you, YatchMan, for pinging me to the last thread. The new information explains my uneasiness in trying to figure out how somebody like the CHIEF could have become "confused". That just didn't sound right.
He was such a good person, and I stand with you in the request that an extra salute be given in my name, too. Although no one is indispensable, it sure is hard to fill the holes left by such people as he.
Thank you COB1 for doing that for us. I realize you can't give 70,000 FReepers salutes, but the one you do give will have all of our names on it!
R.I.P. Old CHIEF - you served our country well.
Thank you Taxman.
If I had any money, I'd sure as hell be there. You know me. Semper Fi.
"the one you do give will have all of our names on it!"
Yes, Judy, I'll be the representative for all of us.
I'm honored to be able to do that.

THANK YOU! My G-d, you needed to put a 100-box tissue warning (OBTW) on that though! I will NEVER stop crying now. But that was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much.

I am a green, amphibious monster made of blood and guts who rose from the sea, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. Whenever it may arise, and when my time comes, I will die a glorious death on the battle field, giving my life to mom, the team and the American flag.

Forgive me for maybe being intrusive here, but as you all know, another Beloved FReeper, Alamo-Girl, just lost her sister. In order to show our love and respect for her, arrangements have been made to make donations in her sister's name.
Alamo-Girl's Sister - Donations in Her Memory
Judy, please forgive me!
I saw that then got so wrapped up in this that I forgot about it, and that was awful of me.
I'm very sorry for Alamo-Girl for losing her sister after her long and brave fight.
My donation will be forthcoming along with prayers for A.G.
The Lord has been very busy these last few days opening the Gate for all of our beloved friends and their loved ones.
I know that A.G.'s sister is getting acquainted with CHIEF and BCM right now.
