Those who accuse the US of being obsessed with a Cold War mindset should stand in the other side's shoes and reflect, only to find that it might be they who are stubbornly clinging to a Cold War mindset. It is true that some Americans married some young and beautiful Chinese girls and they have also gone to Africa to interfere in other's affairs, but are Beijingese and Shanghainese good enough to marry girls from Guizhou? Have the Chinese put in a word for the discriminated overseas Chinese in Malaysia and Indonesia? Have they ever grunted at the lack of respect for their own life in their own country? In a disorderly international society, it is better to have America, and there is no one to blame for America's selfish motives. Indeed the US is thinking about its own national interests, but it means no harm to the feelings of the people in any nation and what it is doing may well improve the people's living standard in all countries.

Humans worship their frontal-lobe, but live most of their lives in their spine.

Ever since the communication revolution, borders mean less and less to those in it's grip.
Governments (and corps) are simply proxies for systems of thought, as acted upon by a group of people.
These systems of thoughts spill through lines of communications.
Systems of thought that overwrite others or kill their hosts, succeed.
America's system of thought is balanced on a knifes edge.
America's system is one primarily of efficiencies of scale. That's why it works.
Well, mostly. Democracy is a "forensic" system. It punishes the victim.
Less laws, hope everyone behaves for the most part, and prosecute the (hopefully) small number of offenders.
Ahhh, there's the rub.

American's for the most part, believe in a God, of some brand or other.
This built-in mental cop says, "Do good, cause there's Hell to pay otherwise"
Our Deist (not really Christian, go look it up) Founding Fathers knew this
when they built the system. Hence the no established religion kind of thing.
But the Generic God, that, for a very long time, was woven into the fabric of the system, began to fade.
It's behavioral component was weighted less, and less.

Balance this with the Islamic system of thought, and the Communist system of thought.
These 3 systems are mutually exclusive, thus guaranteed strife.
We are approaching the collapse brought about by the communication revolution. Culture being washed out.
Being brought down to some saddle point. No longer can the American
system of thought depend on God, and look what happens in our corps and govt.
Do whatever you can get away with. Hey, that sounds just like China!
Except, they didn't start with the God complex.

There is no happy end to this story. And yes, despite the cloying doomsday ringing, really will happen.
It's the nature of complex systems with finite resources.
