With all due respect, wrong eagle. The Bald Eagle is the official bird (Eagle) of the United States.
Looks like a golden eagle instead of a bald eagle.

one last bump to see if I can catch some opinions on this pic.
I sent my email...I think it's beautiful! elegant with a clean patriotic crispness.

To be honest I believe the original national bird was supposed to be a phoenix. The old drawings certainly appear that way.

I thought the spotted owl was the national bird? OH YEAH, that was under the Klinton
Bumping up so I can find it later again.
I do like it. The eagle doesn't quite look right for some reason though (color is off or something).
I'm with you. Wrong eagle.
Great image, but it's the wrong eagle!!!

I can't believe the folks at GOPUSA posted this photo. Don't they know what a bald eagle looks like?
They may as well have posted a picture of a buzzard.
I like the window dressing eagle but the real motive for this website is oh so global ain't it? AIN'T IT! Shhhhhh. We better not inform WE the People that our Republican Party has gone GLOBAL GOVERNANCE now, can we! I'd like to see a show of hands here, right here on Free Republic, of those who sanction global governance and the end to national sovereignty. If you dare, that is.
agreed...wrong eagle and the phrase will be perverted to "America will have her way" . While i like the sound of that, I don't think it's the message of the day....
And this is going out as a fund raiser? I think it's at least a little crass to be raising political money with a poster of NYC.
Have a little sympathy.

With a little bit of work, which I'd be happy to
donate, this eagle should fill the bill.
This is a photo I took at the Smithsonian.
The original is much darker and about five
Right eagle, right slogan.

Agree that it's a golden. I don't like the poster. To tentative, they could use the services of Registered.
Just as long as it's not that crying eagle...
As I understand it Ben Franklin thought it should be the wild Turkey. No joke. Later...
I have to agree with you: we all beat up the RATS for doing a fundraiser in the name of "honoring" firefighters up in New Hampshire last week. It's a really nice poster, but seems a bit exploitative to me as well.
P.S. - What the heck is that red logo above 'GOPUSA' supposing to represent?? I can't even come up with a guess.

That's not an eagle- that is a red-tailed hawk, Buteo jamaicensis
I do have a VERY NICE, sharp close-up photograph of a fully mature, fierce and beautiful bald eagle (same sort of pose as your hawk) that I can get permission from the photographer for you to use and you'll not have to worry about copyright infringement. She will probably let you have it for free. Freepmail me if you are interested.

My first thought was that the logo was a hand doing a pupet show in the form of an eagle.
To: No More Gore Anymore
The logo looks sort of like a newt's head. LOL

Greetings to All!
First, I'd like to thank you for all the great comments on the GOPUSA picture. I'm not sure who originally posted it to FreeRepublic, but I appreciate it. Second, I'd like to clear a few things up. This picture is NOT intended for any type of fundraiser. We simply made it as a way of expressing our feelings about the September 11 attacks. As someone who witnessed the jet airliner crashing into the Pentagon, I was very moved by the event, so I wanted to create something that expressed my feelings. GOPUSA made the image available on the web site for anyone to download.
Also, I'm well aware that it is not a bald eagle. However, when I was laying out the GOPUSA web site, I wanted to use eagles, and the best picture I found was of a golden eagle. It may not be the symbol of the US, but it is a symbol of GOPUSA.
Finally, the GOPUSA logo is something I created. Because of my love for flying and my background as an aerospace engineer, I wanted to do something "eagle-like" but abstract. So, what I came up with is what you see. It is our "right wing" symbol. It's an abstract eagle's wing.
Thanks again for all the feedback.

I agree. I like the bald eagle much better.

Heh heh heh, you may be on to them. Har.
Very good. I thought of something else, but it is too vulgar to talk about Bill Clinton's private parts.
Perhaps it is the side view of an eagle's wing when in flight. The Red highlights the wing.
