Multiculturalism Run Amuck in the Public Schools.
FreedomFriend | 10/12/01 | FreedomFriend

Posted on 10/11/2001 11:25:50 PM PDT by FreedomFriend

Today, I felt it upon myself to right about a very serious problem in our country. No, I'm not talking about the Taliban, bombs, biological warfare, etc., though those are some very legitimate concerns. Instead, I am refering to the rampant "multiculturalism" and "diversity" mantra that is being used through propagandic techniques in the brainwashing of our children.

As a substitute teacher, I come in contact with propagandic material on a near weekly basis. This material comes in the form of magazines, pamphlets, textbooks, and curricula that is set-aside and funded by the state.

For example, the Federal Government, in coordination with state governments and local schoolboards, publishes a quarterly magazine that deals with America's Diversity. The magazine falsifies history and talks about America's "rich culturally diverse past" (Despite multiculturalism was not tolerated pre-Clinton). I'm not talking about having various cultural backgrounds, but rather a technique being used that is having the effect of misinforming our children to the point where they may believe that many cultures have lived together in harmony all throughout America's past. Many of these same magazines feature children from various ethnic and racial backgrounds on the front cover. What I don't get, though, is why there are very few white children on these covers. I mean, they'll have higher numbers of Asian and black children in these pictures as opposed to white children which, I might say, still have a much larger share of the population than either of the above groups. In some pictures, I've seen as few as two white children, while there'll be five Asian children and four black children. I have no problem with there being different races and ethnic groups represented, but why do they have to misrepresent the numbers in these types of magazines all the time?

In pamphlets and textbooks, I have witnessed the systematic selectivity of historic events. For example, history textbooks in some fifth grade classes that I have taught fascade the entire Civil War era in a Slavery "Cloak". The whole War is shown to have originated from slavery starting with the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Dread Scott Decision, along with Lincoln, yet there is a total omission of states' rights, high taxes, unfair tarrifs, differences in economies, U.S. law and the Constitution, and blockading of southern ports to the point of southern weakness. I've seen time lines of U.S. History drawn up in which it is made to appear that the European settlers were the worst things to ever have come to this land, for it resulted in the displacement of Indians. In fact, I've seen some textbooks where it says that the "Indians lived a harvesting life for thousands of years until the European settlers came in and disrupted their peaceful lifestyle forever". Not exact words, but close. The point, though, is that only one side of the story is shown, and it is generally the one the Socialist elite wants your children to see. That is, it is the one that omits many facts while blurring and scewing the truth and reality.

As far as Curricula goes, this deals mostly with the government funded "diversity" education and studies/subjects that are being pushed down the throats of teachers and students. That is, many teachers have no choice but to teach the material that the state says to teach. For example, many of these "Diversity Education" subjects/programs focus on "diversity in the educational environment", "why all of us are different", "why diversity is a good thing", etc. My point about this is why pay money for something that should come naturally, or shouldn't come naturally? I mean, whatever environment a child will become exposed to will be the one that he/she becomes accustomed to. There is no reason to spend time and money on programs that will be used to brainwash many young minds. I mean, why would we need programs such as these in the mountains of West Virginia, in Montana, etc. Generally, why would you need them in areas where there is a dominant American culture? To me, it appears that there must be a hidden agenda to change America's culture, and that they are attempting to desensitize the young to the coming, forced/manufactured/non-natural change. Shouldn't assimilating be the goal? Why is E Pluribus Unum on our money if we are teaching many cultures instead of one? It's very odd, I'd say.

Thus, I thought that I should indicate some of the propaganda that is being disseminated throughout the public schools. This is really happening, and it's so insane. It's not necessary, yet the children of America are being forced to ingest it, regardless of whether their parents approve.

If you can believe this, in a Masters-level class we were asked 'If you could be any tree, what tree would you be?'. The inanity, the sheer smugness of it all makes me wretch. I am no tree; there is only life and death, truth and lies, good or evil. There ARE universal truths that intellectuals 'hate' in the Greek sense, and because they are ignored even people we would consider to be 'highly educated' are in fact quite infantile (and perhaps socially retarded) themselves.

I had to take several multi-cultural courses for teaching certification. Had a well respected Russian Orthodox Priest teach the class. The father was excellent and I have recommended his class to several others. Actually, most of those classes really do strive to foster a more understanding attitude to various cultures other than our own.

We have quite a few natives in Alaska. When they live in an area where there are jobs, (not in some bush village) vast majority are very decent, respectable people. Still natives do not think like say white people. Many cultural differences; some good (sharing, respect for the land, ect) and some bad (rampant alcoholism/drug abuse, child abuse ect). Not uncommon to see sexual child abuse rates of 60-70% in bush villages, as strange as it may seem, it is cultural in nature; been practiced for hundreds of years. Now not all natives are child abusers, but its way off the scale in comparison to whites. It also continues from generation to generation; very prevalent in some families as it is learned and sad to say culturally accepted.

I confronted the father about this aspect of their culture and he became very somber and did not have any good answers; as deep inside he also knew the truth.

The point is we often paint a biased picture of other cultures from either our culture's value system (which is human nature) or to achieve a social/political end (thank you politicians, we elect them and they set the standards) When the latter occurs how does that benefit anyone in America?

The children will only injest it if you are not helping them with their homework. Go over every little bit of it each night with them. You owe it to them, if you think things at the school are getting out of hand, drag the kids out of it and school them yourself.

At the moment, I do not have any children. However, when I do, I plan on having them schooled in a Private Christian school.

The point, though, is that Americans should not have to worry about their children being brainwashed by socialist morons every time they drop them off at school.

Friend, you are not imagining it. Today, my 5th grader brought home gang resistance materials which culminated in a bizarre exercise: Create your own country. Give it a name. Draw a map. What laws would you make?

My dear, I am a 45-year old Mexican American and I am appalled at this multicultural deconstruction of my nation.

Monday was Columbus Day, but as I had predicted, no mention was made in my daughter's school. And it is a fact that you would get the impression that America is 80% black and hispanic. My question is: Why do European-American school principals and teachers so energetically pass on this fictional view of America? I've often felt that I would subvert the curriculum every chance I got with things like facts, truths, Western civilization, and the Judeo-Christian God.

Not quite like that. I think many people want to see a better America with less ethnic racism, hates no good. I think many aspects of implementation are politically motivated and just as harmful to our country.

As a teacher, doesn't all the politics in education get to you. I think burnout from politics in education and lack of administration support destroys more teachers than the kids or pay scale.

You have unwittingly stated the scope of the problem. European American culture is not shown in the same favorable light as cultures other than our own, but rather Western culture and Judeo-Christian principles are debunked and degraded. Mexican American talking here.

Yeah, I saw that one, too. It did sicken me. I kept waiting to see a white male, much like myself, yet none were shown. You know that it's more of the effort to weaken the white male. When you're talking about a country that is 70% white, and about half of those are male, why would you not have at lease a few white males, let alone not one?

Personally, the U.S. problems of racism are less-so than most nations. However, I feelt that these "efforts" to strengthen "unity" actually result in the opposite. They divide. The make something out of nothing. Thus, it draws light to differences, and that draws anymosity between groups. However, that aside, I do feel that immigration policy needs to now be restructured and placed in favor with Europeans, as it has not been in the favor with them since the mid 60s. Too many groups will definitely result in the same divisions that such propaganda is already doing. Again, this is not Heaven, and the type of harmony that many espouse will only become reality once we get past those Pearly Gates.

I am with you girlfriend, America has a culture that is being buried. I have made a guy so mad by daring to say it that I think he spit flecks of foam on his monitor.

It really doesn't matter what our background is, it used to blend together into a distinct culture that honored our history and where those that gave their lives for it were respected and learned from. That taught our children the importance of the Constitution that insures their freedom, and God under whose principles it was formed.

Now it seems we are being Balkanized into sects where, thanks to congress and those with an agenda, new arrivals are taught to hate and be suspicious of anyone that doesn't go along with the PC ploy that acts as though we all arrived on Americas shores five minutes ago. Sure I respect my Irish and Cherokee heritage, but I have never thought of myself as anything but American or observing a culture outside of the American culture. New arrivals seem to be taught that their culture should be held onto like a drowning man holding onto a life ring and they should reject any attempt to blend into a common culture. The results might end up very divisive and lead to a dangerous ignorance on peoples part of just how important our history is to our future.

It wasn't always like this. I was in elementary school during the 1980s, and I do not ever remember seeing any of this "diversity" material, subjects, etc. Why? It is because it did not exist. I turned out fine. So did many others. Therefore, why are we spending money on wasteful propagandic programs? I know why, but it lacks common sense.

As much propaganda as being disseminated, I don't know how a parent could keep all of it away, and all of their children aware over the course of many years in regards to the dangers of these techniques.

That aside, parents should be responsible in their childrens' lives. There will be no debate in that regard.

The lefties flip out when a school posts a sign that says, "God Bless America." But they are certainly pushing an agenda of their own. Multiculturalism. Heather has two mommies. Don't forget your free condoms.

I think that maybe, just maybe, we could achieve a cease fire. We agree not to push the "God bless America" stuff. They agree not to push their left-wing stuff. Allow these kids to master the fundamentals of reading, writing, math and history without any spin from the left or the right.

Are you off your rocker. God is a fundamental part of our country. It's in our founder's writings, on our money, and in our culture and history. Moral degeneracy and unnormalness has no relationship with the history of our country, and it is harmful. God is good, and is Love. Ceasefire? Never.

Just stating my ethnic credentials to demonstrate that multiculturalism is an agenda of the Left and not of hyphenated Americans themselves. I'd even venture to say that non-white Americans deeply resent mandatory race or ethnic identification to government agencies and really want to see the practice completely banned. Hey, that's sounds like an ammendment a Republican House of Representatives could pass on one vote!

Crap. The only culture we should be concerned about is preserving our American heritage. Yes it is based on immigrants and we have achieved alot in the last 200 odd years. But now the immigrants are freeloaders, and scumbags with no intention what so ever of blending in , learning the language, or mores of society. These urchins have F up'd their own countries and think they can come over here and have "little Pakistan" or "little Afghanistan" etc. BS! If they do not have a employable skill and a genuine interest in our culture F! them. Kick them out. I live in a building in DC full of these miserable fucks. They can't even take their trash down to the trash shoot in a GD 1400/mo apartment complex. They just leave their trash laying all over. Not a one of them speak English unless they want you to here them talk crap about Americans. KICK THEM ALL OUT! NEVER LET THEM IN!! END IMMIGRATION NOW!!!

It seems to be second nature - genetically speaking for a large portion of European types to embrace communism, socialism and atheism as well as new age idolatry.

Don't forget it was white Europeans who invented Communism, Socialism and the rampant new age cultural cesspool in which swim the likes of Shirley McClain and Barbara Streisand.

On the other hand, it was a defining moment of European civilization when Charles (The Hammer) Martel beat back the Moors at Portiers, France in 732. Constitutional government, leaps in technological culture and the opening of the umbrella of Christendom have propelled human civilization to new heights of achievement.

It seems there is to be a shake-out genetically speaking among all races between those who would support anarchy and atheism over any knowledge of human interaction with God, his laws and dominion.

I used to tutor kids in the public schools, and just on a practical level it was really hard for kids with reading problems to read stories in their reading books when all the characters' names in the stories were ethnic and unfamiliar to them. They would get so frustrated that I would finally just tell them to make up a name.

Ah, yes....reminds me of my son's 1st grade Harcourt Brace reader, wherein the children depicted were of all colors (which is fine) but with a serious lack of white children (which is not fine). I felt like I was being hit over the head with race every time I opened the damn thing.

The final straw was when this same reader featured an Aesop's fable with a little bio on Aesop at the end of it, in which I discovered, to my surprise, that Aesop was an African storyteller. And all these years (preceding the PC era) I was led to believe that he was a Greek.

Now we're homeschooling and never going back.

Easy. Answer it this way:

Redwood. Chopped down, sawn into lumber at a sawmill, and formed into furniture sitting on someone's deck in their backyard.

The anti-Western Civilization left intentionally confuses ethnicity with culture. We certainly should be accepting of all ethnicities, but we should be very proud and protective of our culture and civilization.

Multiculturalism is a disease.

Actually he was born on the island of Samos, which is right off the coast of Turkey, but he was born a slave and told his tales to one of the Greek kings (may have been Croesus, I don't remember anymore) BUT HE WAS NOT AFRICAN.

When I complained to the teacher she referred me to the "curriculum specialist", who referred me to the textbook company itself, who had some cockamamie story about the Greeks invading Ethiopia and Aesop came from the people captured there. Nobody cared that bullshit was being put forth in the classroom.

What's really sad is that these representations may not be that far off in many parts of the US. At my school (San Diego State), there are far more "minorities" than whites. This is true of almost any school or workplace nowdays, thanks to "equal opportunity" programs.

Equal opportunity = more freebies to anyone who is not white.

Equal opportunity = discrimination against whites.

I have found very few scholarships available to low-middle class white males, even with a 3.9 GPA. I have to work to pay for school. Because I work, I have to pay taxes. My tax dollars are being given to any non-white person that asks for it, regardless of their performance. I am essentially working to pay for my schooling and theirs as well. Those who are getting a free ride on my taxes do not pay into the system at all.

Something stinks about "equal opportunity".

I agree with you. Scholarships are limited to middle class whites. This is the unfortunate reality. I graduated from college a few years ago, and I was fortunate that the state lottery paid for my education. That is, if you maintained an "A" average, your tuition, as long as it was at a Georgia public University, was free. At least the taxpayers weren't paying for it, much the same way they do through stafford and pell loans.

I ended up graduating with a 3.98. I do have to say that my "free" schooling was probably what allowed me to maintain such a high GPA, for if I had to work myself through, regardless of intelligence, I would likely have made a lower A average.

Your analysis of their being fewer whites in the work and schoolplace in the San Diego area has much to do with high illegal immigration, preference for non-European immigrants, as well as "Equal Opportunity Programs" that discriminate against whites. I agree with basically everything you've said, and it's unfortunate that it's so true.

What really pisses me off are the kids who are benefiting from my taxes and skipping class, complaining the whole time that they have too much work. They party every weekend and would be overjoyed to get a B- in a class. >/rant<

Well, after more substitute teaching, it is getting to the point where you are seeing the PC multiculturalism/diversity leftist brainwashing every single day.

For example, I recently subbed a class, and part of the daily schedule was for the students to attend an assembly in the school cafeteria. So, I took the students down to the cafeteria for their "Character" Assembly.

Upon arriving, I thought, "Hey, maybe this is a good thing". Afterall, displayed on cards throughout the cafeteria were the words, "Respect", "Responsibility", etc. I must say, though, they did have words such as "Tolerance" and "Compassion" up. Howeve, despite it making me a little wary, it didn't make me suspect it too much.

As the third grade students began to start their performance (they were the ones involved in the "character assembly", I quickly realized that it was merely another attempt to force Leftist idealism and PC dogma onto the young children of America. For example, the children started singing about "behavior". The students were saying, "you can't tell me what to do. I dictate my own behavior. I control my own thoughts. You have no right to tell me what to do." The point is, there wasn't a distinction made between parents and bad people. It gave the children the opinion that they don't have to do or say anything anyone says, including their parents.

Later on in the assembly, I realized that the performance was taking on a humanism nature. For example, the children started singing, "I dictate what I believe. What I know is fact, etc." Thus, in general it was saying that there are no absolutes. Fact is what you believe in your mind. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I saw a group of teachers over in the corner conversating, and I could only wonder what they were talking about.

There were many other examples of Leftist brainwashing, and if you were all there, you'd catch onto it rather fast. However, elementary school children are very vulnerable, and they soak up everything rather quickly. The socialist elite is seeking to brainwashing our children to their atheistic/multiculturalist/diversity ways. If only more parents knew what their children were being exposed to. The indoctrination is deep into the performances, textbooks, magazines, school curriculum, etc. It's a terrible thing, and I try to set the children straight about the truth.
