How'd u find out about FR? I vaguely remember going through Drudge's site during the recount mess.

How'd u find out about FR?

I think I first saw it back in 97. Sometime that year there was a link on Drudge called, "The Whitewater File." Then in 98 I didn't have a computer because I had been using my sons laptop from his work. When I got back on line in late 98 or 99 the Whitewater file was gone and I guess I just went hunting for FR. I remember reading posts at that time about how there had been a 'falling-out' between Drudge and the folks at FR, which accounted for Drudge pulling the "file". IMO, there was only one winner in it all, and it wasn't Drudge.

How about you? How did you find FR? You still a student in DC? Been to any FReeps?

I found the thread to free republic on drudges site about four years ago. I was hooked right away. I've been a lurker until this year. Now I am an occasional poster and still a lurker. You guys (and gals) bring wide perspectives (sp) to todays political problems and make me think. Thanks Jim for this wonderful site, where we can see the first amendment in action! coincheck
