Similar occurence in Tallahassee Florida yesterday. Powder from a box found in a post office. HazMat team called in. Still waiting for results.

Also had several envelopes found at the rest stop on I-10 where the British Tourist, Gary Colley, had been murdered years ago. Powder, and "Anthrax" misspelled on the front.

I hope these people who think they are having fun with this know the amount of shtuff they're gonna get kicked outta them if they ever get caught...this is not something to joke about.

It's time to say that anyone who plays these kind of games in a situation like this will face a stiff fine and time in the pokey. The police and FBI have enough to do without wasting their time on false alarms. If there are enough of these distractions, they might miss the real thing when it happens because they are spread too thin following false trails.

He doesnt spend time sorting mail in post offices does he? If we are talking Anthrax, you've got to touch it, eat it, or inhale it. Being in the same city as some sealed off post office isnt going to harm anyone. Now if they found a nuke in the mail, that might be a different story.

I asked this question on another thread, but got no answer. Nope, I'm NOT over-reacting, just curious. Thought I'd ask YOU cuz ya always answer, you're such a sweetie!

I have various saddles/tack scheduled to be delivered in the next few days, via UPS. There has been some talk, that a package seems to have been tampered with AFTER the person mailed it out.

Do you think it'd be a good idea for me to let a sheriff or such, open my saddle/tack deliveries? Or would that be over-reacting?

Way he describes it doesn't sound like powder in an envelope. Anthrax isn't that big a deal. Since the SORT is involved, it's bound to be health related, though. Wonder what it is?

Being a post ofice, an anthrax scare would probably be a good bet. Hope it's not the real thing.
Hope the folks are OK.
If this "powder thing " is getting to be a fad, America will suffer from it.
Only a true idiot would even consider trying to be "funny."
