Freeper Gracey and I returned to my home on the central Gulf coast just a while ago. We took the cruise courtesy bus from Miami to Clearwater accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Porgygirl who live a little north of me. Gracey is already on the way back to her home in Texas. I'm pooped, but Gracey napped on the bus and hit the road right away for her long drive to Austin.....What a great success this Freeper conference cruise was! Pictures and details will be forthcoming as soon as cruisers arrive home and settle in......There were no problems and we all felt and WERE safe. Only thing different on this cruise as opposed to ones I took in the past was more frequent requests and more intensive eyeballing of our ID documents upon boarding and leaving the ship at the ports of call. I'm sure there were other enhanced security measures we could not see, but there was nothing annoying to us.....The workshops were absolutely chock full of information and input from Freepers. I can truthfully say the operative word for the meetings was "inspiring". Input from everyone was awesome. An abundance of ideas were put forth and plumbed. Organization and planning for the Network was discussed in detail. I see a great future for the Network based on the enthusiasm and keen insight that bubbled up in each meeting. The fellowship was heart-warming. We all had a ball. EVERY Freeper who signed up wants to do an encore in the future, believe me!

Hey, Bahama Mama,
Dick and I just got in and as soon as we get a little dinner (back to the real world!) I'll post our pictures. I can't type on his computer (a really weird keyboard!), so I'll wait to use mine to put my thoughts on here. This was an incredible week and I'll miss all of you. What a success!!

I can't bring up your photos (gnashing my teeth). Am I the only one? I do know lots of folks can't bring up pics with those little red X links even when right mouse clicking is used.

ReaganGirl checking in.
Arrived home late and exhausted but couldn't stop telling hubby about all the fun we had and how great everyone is.
Can't wait to start putting those ideas into action and putting FreeRepublic and the Network on the front pages.
Time for a post cruise nap.
To: porgygirl
I sure am jealous. :)
Really - I do hope you all have a wonderful time. I really wish I could have joined all of you - especially in these times we are in - a nice, luxurious trip sure sounds terrific.
Have FUN!!

My post-cruise shorthand report: THE MOST FUN TIME I'VE EVER HAD. The cruise was wonderful, the ship was great, but without the freepers it would just have been a nice time. I can say without equivocation, I am proud to be a part of this group of fine Americans. More to come......

Coco Cay CLAIMED!
Miami underway party.
Anchored at Coco Cay.
I knew if I kept after it I could make them appear on the page. The picture in the previous post is Mrs. Porgy [Mali] on the bridge to Atlantis.
To: porgygirl
Oh yes and the picture of me on the bridge of the Majesty of the Seas.
To: porgygirl
Thanks for the pics, looks like a great time. Love the banner.

Just reporting in.
The cruise was the best cruise ever. Can't wait for the next one. Hey, no one turned down my bed last night and gave me chocolate mints. What the heck is with that?

#23...Mine wasn't turned down either....even though Molly & dittomom's was?----Couldn't figure that one out?
LOL, my husband is on his way home & asked me if I needed anything.
I told him.........dinner :)
He said.....'got a little pampered while away, eh' .....:)
To: Slip18
We got ours turned down and this time the towels were made into swans. Check this out.

He said.....'got a little pampered while away, eh' .....:) Reality set in at the Food Lion this morning! ARGGHHH. The real world . . . Not Ready!!
To: ReaganGirl
Glad you made it home safely. Here's a picture of the back of your head. Guess you don't want to frame it. :-)
(BTW, I found Dunhills today.)
To: Commonsense
The swans were also a big hit with our kids. They were a little cautious, though, after their experience with the towel pig of the night before. They hugged it and petted it, then wondered where it had gone...
It was a great trip. My personal highlights include the company of freepers, Cococay, and the great food and service on board the ship. On the downside, the casino slot machines were both surly and possessive.
Let's make it a week next time...

Just made it back home myself.
I'm alittle bummed.... there doesn't seem to be a late afternoon buffet anywhere in this house :(
I left the dale reeds & the hocndocs at DFW airport to make their connecting flights back to their home bases. Everyone is tired but happy, and can't wait for the next FR Network event.
What a pleasure it was to spend so much time with so many Freepers.
Last night the remaining group went to a nice restaurant on the water and were entertained by stories and jokes told by Mr. Maf and Mr. abner. Freeper spouses are truly wonderful.
More later.... Right now I am going to try to figure out why my floor keeps swaying back & forth.
To: Interesting Times
You mean our volleyball game didn't make it into your highlights? (I still have battle scars on both knees.)
It was great to meet your wife and kids..... They are darling.

You mean our volleyball game didn't make it into your highlights? (I still have battle scars on both knees.) Sure -- that comes under "the company of freepers". And I'm missing a bit of skin myself...
It was great to meet your wife and kids..... They are darling.
I agree. After 14 hours in transit yesterday, they're *very* happy to be home, and on terra firma.
Personally, I don't care if an airport decides to rock slowly back and forth, but undulating airplanes bother me.

TO ALL:
Triple-C checking in and I'm home safe-n-sound. Good to meet y'all or see familiar faces from previous meetings. Too much to catch up on right now. Talk to everyone later.

Thanks, and we had a great time as well.
It's hard to imagine better dinner companions than you, Molly Pitcher and Dittomom.
By the way, here's the Election Eve Vanity piece you asked about.

Thank-you for this......and thank-you for the kind words to Molly, dittomom, and myself. :)

I'm glad to hear that you made it home, too. We walked into the house in New Braunfels by 5 pm. The cat, the dog and the fish and grandfish are all alive and well. (At least the dog missed us.)
Our flight home was sane and quiet, especially compared to the chaos of last Saturday.
Y'all all will be glad to know that our airports are safe: I got pulled aside and searched in Fort Lauderdale. And passed, except for the Trident pack in my pocket.
Great week, great trip and better than great company. Now, for some real sleep, in my own bed!

Checking in. Finally got home tonight. Wow, we almost missed our flight this morning even though we got to the airport 2.5 hours early! We still had to cut in line to make our flight and then our flight was an hour late getting off. Our layover in Atlanta was only 1 hour, so we barely made the second flight. The second flight from Atlanta to Dallas was EMPTY. Very strange. I did not get searched THIS time. lol.
The cruise was better than I ever anticipated. I had a very good time and can't wait to do it again. It was SO NICE to meet some of you in person that I had not met before - Qathleen, Guenevere, hocndoc, Molly Pitcher, IronJack, dalereed, Luis Gonzalez, Ruthy Dupree, Donato Dalrymple, Mustang, citizenx7, Patriot1, ReaganGirl, and I'm sure I'm forgetting many.
