That's one of my very favorite graphics to come out of this whole horrible tragedy, too.
That and the photo of the flag-raising by the firemen,
which I used as the background of my Lady Liberty Weeps graphic.

VERY NICE! I like that one, too! (You certainly have a gift!) The service that you folks are providing here is heartwarming. We need to get the word out - about this "USO Canteen" thread - to more of our servicemen, all across the USA.

Hugh lurks here, and promotes this website FREQUENTLY - see:
HUGH HEWITT and Free Republic: How should we help him help us? [Who **IS** this guy?]

His radio show is on the air RIGHT NOW, ending his first hour - of three total.

Can YOU (or someone else who knows about this thread) CALL HIS SHOW at 1-800-520-1234 - now?

You should be able to get a good plug in for FR in general, and for THIS THREAD in particular.

Can YOU call in now? (Be sure to mention Free Republic, and the USO thread!)

The poke chops and sweet potatoes are dooo-licious, as my husband's Serbian grandmother used to say! I've brought apple crisp for dessert.

Thanks Ron...I'm listening now online...he flamed Biden beautifully, and if Biden isn't the posterboy for silliness and lightweighness in the Democratic Party, who is? He's not up to the job.

Thanks for your Freepmail...I have to go through a lot with it, but gimme time.

Hewitt is funny *AND ADULT.*

Hewitt may come off as a bit elitist and curt to some listeners.
But as you say, he does a show for folks with a bit of maturity (regardless of age).
("Small world", my sister-in-law is a Milwaukee home-girl; she and my brother
are anticipating the imminent arrival of their first child.)

Whoa! This BLOWS me away! Thanks for this post, friend!

All Americans:

Keep this picture in your mind forever and the attack on the World Trade Towers, the death of those men, women and children will stay personal forever! When you get a peacelover whining in your ear, this is the cure. Six posts from the left, in the middle of the picture you see someone holding an infant out of the building trying to give it fresh air. These folks are all dead now. Keep this atrocity personal forever! Do not listen to the whiners and weepers about the civilian casulties that our pilots accidentally cause. Remember foremost the six thousand plus civilians who died in the attack on the World Trade Center Towers. This terrorist attack was an intentional mass murder of innocent civilians. So tell Reuters or CNN can go somewhere else with their 'sad stories'!

Never forget, and so far, forgiveness has not been requested by the 'Taliban Terrorists'.

"Now, I'm betting you can cut a rug better, too!"

LOL!
Someday we're going to have to have a FReeper get together and find out!
Actually I was a stand-in for Travolta in "Saturday Night Live", but I don't think either one of us could do that anymore.
My wig would fall off, my teeth would fall out, and my Attends would get wet.

I saved that picture!
Everytime some peacenik posts on this forum, I'm going to post that picture!
It infuriates me that some think we should give quarter to these murders!
If I could say what I really think, I'd make a D.I.'s ears turn red.

"it's how I hurt my back!!"

When you get through with the liniment, IG, I need to borrow it.
When I was young, dancing was a prelude to something more serious.
Now if I dance, I'm not able to do the more serious things!

What a great thread! Thanks for the ping. I have seen it every day but never ventured here (to my great loss). I'm glad to hear that some of our uniformed personnel are looking at it, because it's plain how much we appreciate them and their hard work on our behalf. God bless America and our brave troops!!

Welcome to SnowBunny's and Billie's most hospitable Canteen. Please make yourself at home: you are among friends, family, and fighting folk. Enjoy, and bring your neighbors next time.

THAT, my dear COB1, is exactly WHY women of my age STILL like to dance.

You wouldn't have to worry about getting groped by guys like me on the dance floor.
You might have to worry about having to carry us back to our table.
