MAN ON FBI WATCH LIST DETAINED AT PHOENIX IAP

Subject on FBI watch list arrived at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport form London minuets ago. INS officers notified FBI earlier in the day, and 4 agents were on hand when subject deplaned. Subject was processed by INS and escorted to secondary. FBI agents talking to subject as I write.

Someone on their "watch list" went to airport, stood at the counter, and was then tackled by a dozen security people. For all we know, he was flying home to see his mother in Tehran. Just because someone is on the "watch list" doesn't mean they are a terrorist, and it doesn't mean he was trying to carry out a terrorist attack.

Have to disagree with you there: if he has buddies to see and he doesn't show up for any reason they're going to assume that he's been captured. So whether or not FR reports it doesn't make a bit of difference to their intel, just ours.
