I've thought about this a lot as I'm sure many freepers also have. After watching the movie "Enemy at the Gate" I've decide that a sniper rifle is the best NRA, save the country type weapon to own. Obviously handguns have no real compat use except to kill yourself. M16's are a very good ALL AROUND weapon to be given to people fighting en-mass anywhere in the world. Defending the country from invasion would not be an enmass fight but would more likely be similar to what we Stalingrad WWII.

So which sniper rifle. Howabout a good ole bolt action 30-06. Much bigger like a 50 cal might not be very practical when lowcralling through tunnels or hiding in a tree or a fox hole if you 'relocate' after every shot. It might be a good idea to sellect what ever 30 calliber rifle will shoot the same ammo that you are likely to find in the field rather than picking an oddball size.

LMAO, I waaaaaaaaaaaant one (whining). That is TOO perfect.

Oh, and for the other thing, I'd want my 45-70 (with unlimited ammo). It'll stop a freight train (out to about 150 yards), it's a bit much for plinking, but it would do whatever I needed it to.

You can't live without a grenade launcher.

Lots of votes for 12ga/7.62.

Good choices.

How about handguns? .45 has already been recommended.

Think ya'll would like one of these tee shirts from InfoWars.com.
"[pics of Hitler, Stalin, Mao] MASS MURDERERS AGREE GUN CONTROL WORKS!"
Me, I'm voting for the Glock 21.

All right, it was a joke. Does a HKP7M8 9mm Luger make an ok substitute? Or a SIG 226, but it's a little hard to conceal.

Let's try that again:

My AR-15. By replacing the upper receiver and stock, I can have anything from a 9MM CAR-15 to a .223 match rifle for Highpower Rifle events.

When Matt Lauer asked Charlton Heston if he thought that he had as many guns as he needed,Mr. Heston replied"I probably have as many guns as I need, but I don't have as many as I want".I'm with Chuck on this one!I'd like to see someone tell me that I can only have one gun!If that were the case, I would have great difficulty deciding between my H-Bar Comp AR15 and my beloved 1886 Winchester .45-70govt.The former puts out a lot of little bullets, while the former delivers enough wallop to at least get an elephant's attention!!

I would go with the Glock line. None of that safety cr4p to stop you when you want to shoot. You're the safety!

Another vote for the 12 ga. pump, since you're limiting yourself to one gun.

Amen.

If I had to pick only one of the guns I currently have, it would be my folding stock M-1 .30 Cal. Carbine. It's a light gun, it's easy to conceal because it folds & with a .30 Cal. bullet it will bust your @ss accurately up to 150 yards.
