But what's embarrassing is that this is transparently political ass-covering on the part of the FBI. There aren't any religious freedom issues here. They just don't want to be denounced by "Arab-Americans."This is like the article in the Wash. Post or the Times yesterday, in which an unnamed FBI official said the High Alert warning was issued so that the gov wouldn't be "blamed" if something does occur.
Is the Justice Dept. run by a bunch of tort lawyers???
Disgusting behavior.

Thx for the bump.
I don't think the fact that they are religious is what's holding the FBI back; it's that they're Muslim, and we don't want to offend anyone, lest they think we're not P.C.!

Being a collector of books among other things, I came across a koran
(doesn't deserve respect of capitalization) in a flea market a few years ago.
A muslim woman saw what I had and asked if I was muslim. When I told her no and that I only wanted to study it, she became upset and told me I am not supposed to have it and asked what dollar amount I wanted for it, and got really mad when I told her it was not for sale at any price.
I lightly skimmed through it afterward and put it away with the rest of my junk. It was written in english, but came from the east, possibly Turkey. Could there be a difference in the ones in a bookstore here and the ones they have over there? I think I need to find that book.
