GERALDO JUMPS TO FOX NEWS AS WAR CORRESPONDENT, FOLDS CNBC'CAST
FOX News Channel signed Geraldo Rivera to be a war correspondent, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX News on Thursday. Rivera folds his CNBC'cast.
In making the announcement, Ailes said, "Geraldo's years of experience as an anchor and hard-hitting investigative reporter will enhance FOX News' international coverage of the war on terrorism. He will put his unique talent to work for us in the hot spots of the world. We are delighted he is joining FOX News."
Rivera's last appearance on CNBC will be November 16th. On November 19th, he will be immediately dispatched to the Afghanistan region to join Steve Harrigan, Amy Kellogg and other FOX News correspondents in the area to provide live reports for FNC.
"I'm a reporter," says Rivera, "and America's fight against terror is the biggest story of our times. And as much as I loved my CNBC program, I can't stay anchored to that desk any longer. So it is my honor to rejoin Roger Ailes, and become part of the excellent team he has established at Fox News Channel. I hope to be able to report all aspects of our nation's do or die fight against terror."
Rivera is a veteran foreign correspondent, who has been on the frontlines in virtually every conflict since 1973. He has expertise in the Afghanistan region, covering the international drug wars of tribal territories in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. His vast war experience began with the violent coup in Chile and the Yom Kippur War to the civil wars in Guatemala, the Philippines and Nicaragua to the ethnic conflicts in Lebanon (1980-83) and Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo (1998-1999). This year, he went to Colombia to cover the country's civil war.

If Whoraldo told me the earth was Solid, I would get swim fins and water wings. If anyone during impeachment wanted to be Monica it was Whoraldo.
To: GoreFreeTN
I will not be watching this punk's show. Geraldo is an opportunistic, lying, clown. He's worthless.

I thought it was a joke.

I can't wait to see this. I wonder if the first time Brit Hume is anchoring a report by Geraldo he starts needling him.
To: GoreFreeTN
my fiancee called him a 'kockknocker' and I agree.
To: GoreFreeTN
I have noticed lately that Geraldo has been changing his tune toward the Bush administration...
To: GoreFreeTN
What the heck! That is it, Fox is getting e-mail!
To: Recovering_Democrat
I just had to come to FR to see the comments. I didn't say what you said, mainly because I didn't think of it.. I need someone to push my mouth back in place.. It fell open when I read Drudge's headline.

>GERALDO JUMPS TO FOX NEWS AS WAR CORRESPONDENT, FOLDS CNBC'CAST Let's hope it ain't so. NO other press wires are running the story yet. Perhaps this is one of Drudge's goofy leaps...

Mistake, BIG MISTAKE. We get rid of one nitwit (Paula) and pick up another one.
Geraldo has zero credibility. I realize Fox needs to hire liberals to give balance. Couldn't Roger have been more selective?

First assignment should be to send him to uncover "The Secret of The Caves" in Afghanistan.

Geraldo on FNC, Rosie O'Donnell loves Bush. This is all some kind of sick joke right? Or is this one of the signs of the end of the world. Wish I had studied more in Sunday School.

Sorry Fox, but when Whoraldo comes on my channel changes. I couldn't stand him on any other channel. Fox can't fix his problems, he IS the problem.

They get rid of Paula Zahn and her legs and get Geraldo with his chessy mustache, bleeding heart and lies. Not much of a comparison. Has he ever told the truth?
I wonder if he'll go digging for Binny Boy with camera lights blazing and come up empty again.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Ok, ok. Now I am starting to get a better feel for this thing. G-Raldo is going to be a war correspondent, right? So, he gets sent to all the hot spots, right? So, bombs and bullets are flying, right? Ok, that's about covers what I am thinking.
To: GoreFreeTN
Geraldo a "war correspondent"?
Hopefully he will bring us front line reports from Taliban amunition depots.

LOL This had to be a rumor. Someone hacked Drudge's site and stuck it up there. Check him out. Drudge is down.
Drudge MIA
To: GoreFreeTN
What is his real name -- Jerry Rivers? I don't think he'll be going behind the lines.
To: GoreFreeTN
Calm down, Pilgrims.
This is a great move.
Geraldo is a realist, He's been hired as a war correspondent, not a commentator.
He will not jeopardize his new gig by, for example, praising Clinton.
He's been complimenting Bush and his admin already. More to come.
All praise to Roger Ailes!

"Someone should warn Ashley Banfield not to turn her back on Jerry Rivers."
I believe Ashley Banfield is the square-jawed reportorette on MS-NBC, not FOX (she is definatety un-Foxy). Regardless, you are correct. She should never, ever turn her back on Jerry Rivers.

Sure, he'll say all the right things, but what about credibility?
To: GoreFreeTN
FOX News Channel signed Geraldo Rivera to be a war correspondentHmmmmm. Are you thinking what I'm thinking??
To: GoreFreeTN
I hate to admit it, but Geraldo was very hard on Gary Condit on his shows during the 'summer of Chandra'. He has also been very good and supportive on the war on terrorism. I have been watching his show on Direct TV at the gym I go to in the evenings. I look forward to his reporting if it is good like it was for the Chandra Levy affair and so far on the war on terrorism. Other than these two subjects, he has been very liberal of course.
