As smart as this sounds, what the f*** is he saying? I love these guys who are so clever in their analysis, so damning in their criticism, but also so lacking in answers.

Osama has threatened the use of nukes, chemical and biological weapons.
The time for "understanding" is ending. This country will not stand for mass murderers on our soil. No matter what their story, justification, or cause. No mass murderers.
Every country needs to decide.
With us or with the terrorist. Only two choices.
If the monster Bin Laden uses one WMD against us, we nuke and kill every person in every country that stands with the terrorist.
It's time chose up sides. The game is starting.

On September the 11 the door to dialog about the Mideast slammed shut behind me. There is no permanent political solution to an existance where a widely practiced religion emboddies so many hateful and supremacy customs long dropped by rational societies. A good short term solution that could buy us another 50 years of relative peace is to drop lots of Daisy Cutters in lots of the pesty sheikdoms. Its a culture that is awed by power. So lets show them power. They'll get the picture.
Conversely, friends and sympathizers of terror will pass themselves off as constitutionalists and men and women of the "civil society." They will find shelter behind pluralist norms while aiding and abetting the forces of terror.
Pretty chilling. Perhaps you ought to call attention to this passage and see what kind of a response you get. I'm skeptical of libertarian fears, but the way that Ajami implies that those who oppose him may be "friends and sympathizers of terror," makes my blood curdle. I hope we don't get more of this in the months to come.
