ONE YEAR LATER, MEDIA STILL COUNTING FLORIDA VOTES

MAJORITY (79%) BELIEVE WE WILL NEVER GET A COMPLETELY ACCURATE COUNT OF ALL THE VOTES IN FLORIDA

New York [Sun Nov 11 2001 15:55:26 ET] -- With the imminent release of the latest recount of Florida votes, a 79% majority of Americans surveyed for a TIME/CNN Poll say they do not think we will ever get a completely accurate count of all the votes in Florida. (Only 15% said yes we would; 6% were not sure.)

A recount conducted by the National Opinion Research Center & Consortium of Media Companies is expected to break this week, according to CBS MarketWatch.com. The consortium includes AP, The New York Times, Dow Jones, The Washington Post, Tribune Company, AOL Time Warner and others.

The NOPRC started work in February to tally uncounted votes in the disputed election one year ago (in November 2000) that eventually led to George W. Bush's victory in Florida and ultimately to his presidency, notes CBS MarketWatch.

Developing...

The TIME/CNN survey was conducted by Harris Interactive by telephone among 1,037 adults Nov. 7-8. The margin of error for the total sample is 3%.

I read this article in the Sun Sentinel...it states that they are specifically going to count the votes where there were two holes punched for president. How in the world are they going to determine this>????? There WAS some votes for Buchanon....hahahah....This is a joke.

You are very right, and they can count from now to doomsday and will never be able to get the same number. It just isn't going to happen and it would be nice to hear someone acknowledge that fact.

You got it Bubba. If this one had turned out like the other counts conducted by media it would not be publicized so much. This one has been previewed like the coming attractions at a theatre.
They must have finally divined up more "votes" for Gore.

Can you believe it just been a year since that mind-numbing day that turned into weeks and months? I was sick that election night. So much has happened.

Two holes punched is a classic case of voting fraud conducted at the precinct level.

>A useless exercise.

A reasonable person would think so.

But in the last ten years or so, since when has anything in public life been "reasonable?" What if there is more going on than meets the eye?

Consider what happened just a few days ago -- the President of the United States gave a speech, and only one broadcast network covered it.

Numerous democRAT congress-scum have been quoted as saying that "our" president was never elected...

Bush has NATO AWACS in the air over the east coast rather than US AWACS...

Someone is sending anthrax to politicians and the government now has unprecedented "law" enforcement powers to track down "terrorists."

I've said this before in other threads, but I'm becoming more and more convinced that it may be true: There may be some kind of weird, simmering civil war going on in the US, between politicians and power groups who support "the system" which put Bush in office, and politicians and power groups who support the liberals who believe Bush and the Supreme Court "abused" the system.

I don't know what such a low level civil war would look like, but IMHO it strikes me a very reasonable to believe that it would look like what we are seeing: Fragmentation within the media -- with some blocs simply refusing to carry the other's messages. Fragmentation within the military, with some commands simply refusing to put out 100% effort in critical situations. Fragmentation in the business world, with some coalitions getting federal bailouts and assistance and others allowed to get sucked under.

If this is true, there are at least a couple of predictions that may be drawn from the premise. 1) The "rebel" media fragments will continue to push this message that our president is not legitimate, and will step up the rhetoric; 2) We will see greater disarray in the business world as rebel fragments get pushed to bankruptcy and others get Federal bailouts; 3) We will see more bizarre incidents such as we saw at O'Hare airport, where obvious "terrorists" get strangely lenient treatment (some "terrorists" will have contacts within the fragments); 4) We will see the intensity of the conflict escalate (domestically, I mean) until we have visible violent conflicts in the street or until some accomodation is achieved behind the scenes and the "war" on terrorism will "magically" seem to solve itself and fade away.

Time will tell. My predictions are that no accomodation will be reached and America will wide-spread biochem warefare and more than three nuclear explosions.

Then, eventually, a "streamlined" America will emerge built around libertarian & corporate "ideals." Time will tell.

An exercise in futility. It seems every three months we're getting a new recount coming out. Doesn't these people realize they're losing credibility by the minute, as if they ever had any.

Oh, goody. And here I thought the consortium was biased to the Left. What COULD I have been thinking! It's just so obvious these neutral, completely objective folks only have the nation's best interests at heart, and only want to se the record straight for history.
