CNN Reports: "The Right Man Won"
CNN | Nov. 12, 2001

Posted on 11/12/2001 4:07:00 AM PST by wai-ming

Unbelievable. CNN reports, without the usual whining leftist spin, that George W. Bush won the 2000 election recount. And they called him "the right man."

Amazing. First Paula Zahn. Now this. That left-leaning tower in Atlanta is starting to right itself. This could be serious.

Ratings mean things. . .

Anyone see Terry McAwful on CNN this last evening. Stated that they had hundreds of lawyers and volunteers to take care of "problems" that may have happened in NJ and VA last week. Stated that they found some shenanigans going on where the poll workers were asking for driver’s licenses and such. Trying to blame republicans for trying to disenfranchise voters again. Talking about voting reform, probably more motor voter laws. What a CLYMER!

But at the same time, Judy Woodward was saying that only in the most extreme of vote counting circumstances would Gore of won.

Ratings mean things. .

Exactly, are they going to question the legitimacy of a President with high approval ratings.

I don't think so!!!!

I love it!

or, according to the front page teaser...

Poll officials dared to ask for ID establishing the identity of a voter? What an outrage! Anyone should simply be permitted to vote in any district, at any time. Anything else is deeply offensive and probably racist!

No kidding! I have never been asked for any ID at all when I have voted. I've always thought that you should present ID before you vote.

"Judy Woodruff was saying that only in the most extreme of vote counting circumstances would Gore of won."

. . .of course, if this story were headlined correctly re the under/over votes (those that are always thrown out because no one can know WHO was/what was intended. . .)then Lib media artists could not continue to create any illusions in the minds of their public.

Fact is, this is a NON story about reading 'trashed ballots'. . .

Asking for driver's licenses?!! That's terrible!! How are Democrats ever going to get elected if people have to prove they are who they say they are.

Meanwhile these same scumbag Democrats are demanding a new Federal Bureacracy of Investigations at airports to interrogate and dissect the identity of each passenger. Well, let's trade them. Propose a new "FBI" of airports - in exchange for a new "FBI" of ELECTIONS. Then watch the 'Rats scurry off for murkier corners.

"The Right Man Won" in more then literal terms. But I don't believe CNN could do any less with the headline because they were amongst those who commissioned the study.

So do I. . .Britt Hume, controlling slight smirk, offered yesterday that CNN now has agreed to use the 'terrorist word'. . .but would continue to refer to Bin Laden as a 'dissident'. . .

. . .oh well, we are seeing some small steps for truth here; and maybe more to come. . .

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the right man won. But it just might need to have been rocket science that convinced CNN of the fact. I wonder if the rocket scientist involved would like to step forward and receive the medal of freeperdom.

The only thing I have to do is tell them my address, and if I get that right, I'm handed a ballot. Even the very first time I voted, all I needed to do was repeat my address. Seems to me fraud would be everywhere!.

I don't remember EVER being asked for ID wherever I've voted. Here in MA, I'm always asked my address so they can check if the people who live at that address have voted yet. I guess if someone came in before I did and used my address, they might ask for my ID to check it out, but that's never happened. And after 14 years, the poll ladies know me anyway!

Don't count on it. My guess is that they reported it this way because they are worried about backlash against the media and DemocRATs if they report it in favor of Gore.

The analysis reported here used unbiased vote counters, people who had no ax to grind. If Gore had succeeded in getting a manual recount, either in the 3 Democrat counties, or statewide, he would have won easily, due to cheating by Democrats "counting" the votes. Never forget ... Democrats are crooks.

The DU's are going crazy. They are actually spinning the "if you count the illegal votes Gore won" crud. They are totally babbling about how President Bush should resign or that the military should refuse orders. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Could not believe it myself this morning. There on CNN was thier ace political savvy Candy Crowley explaining this new recount and telling the audience that all scenarios but one had Bush winning. Then on comes Jeff Toobin whining, but I don't think he made any points. Maybe we can finally put this story to bed now.Good night algore wherever you are!

Actually I saw Paula Zahn this morning and don't remember anyone saying those exact words. She did have Toobin all blathering his usually "wrong guy" bull. But even Paula pointed out that the votes Gore would have to have counted were illegal by anyones standard. So even Paula (who I consider extremely biased - definite Clintonista) seems to be giving up the fight for the illegal votes. Even Terry McAwful was backing down and just calling for standardized voting. Ha! Dems would lose even more under a fair system.

I have trouble reconciling this "Motor Voter" thing with other positions held by its supporters.

Basically, if someone wishes to purchase and own a gun, these folks demand background checks, waiting periods and all manner of renewable licensing requirements. All this, even though the Second Amendment expressly holds this as a Right that shall not be infringed.

On the other hand, these self same people want ut to simply take the word of anyone who shows up on voting day that they:
- Are who they claim to be (no identification is required or allowed).
- Live where they say they live (no follow up, verification or identification is required or allowed).
- Are to be believed when they claim to have voted only this one time at this one polling place (again, no checking allowed).
- And that they are not convicted felons or non-citizens who do not have the right to vote (no background checks are permitted, no waiting periods are permitted).

I can't see how the Democrats reconcile these positions unless they tacitly admit that they are seeking to encourage vote fraud.

Voter registration is the simplest thing you can do. Do it once and you are set until you move your residence. I cannot understand why the Democrats are so steadfat in their insistance that voter fraud is best combatted using the "honor system" when no other aspect of our lives is allowed such latitude.

Heck, you need a photo ID to get into Sam's Club for crying out loud!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The Paula Zahn reference was a general one. (i.e. that CNN even hired a "conservative" was big news; now they are calling Bush "the right man." What next?) The Actual "Right Man Won" quote came at about 7:15 a.m. EST, from another female anchor, not Paula Zahn.
