Well, I guess I wasn't patient enough to torture him properly. Every time I clicked on one of the torture thingies, it said "Not yet". I'll leave the torturing to those with a faster connection. :^) Thanks for coming, KLT!

That is good archy. It would be fun to see all the different nose arts they are doing in this war. Thanks so much

Well, here's the *other side* shot of the Memphis Belle- the original, with the artwork that's also carried on one of the actively serving B52s [from Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, I believe, where Col. Morgan of the WWII B17 Memphis Belle first got his wings, and not too long ago was treated to a demonstration flight in one of the B52s from the unit stationed there.

It flys on one of the more recent B1 bombers as well, and on the Memphis 164th Tac Airlift ANG C141B cargo planes [forgive the typo of their aircraft type in my previous post.] And that honored old emblem serves as the basis for the insignia of the next generation of pilots and aircrew, too, who'll be carrying that tradition into the next century and this new millenium.

Hey, Billie!

The only problem with these weekend threads are the pics of the food. Gotta FReep, gotta eat. How much more fun to combine the two.

I applied to a couple of the "support our troops" links and haven't heard anything yet. I haven't had time to peruse the whole thread, so pardon me if this question is redundant, but - We're Here to Eagerly Support our Brave Troops - how can we do it best?

Thanks!

If you didn't serve, that doesn't make you bad. Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. I never assume that someone did not serve their counrty.

Even if they didn't there may be a good reason. I was fortunate enough to serve and get disability for my reward. I was graciously asked to leave the Navy after they messed up my lungs but that is the way it goes.

Peace be with you and God Bless.

This thread every day is being read by several Military bases and clubs and hard copies mailed to troops overseas for them to get a little reading pleasure, knowing we're here, with words of support and love and wonderful patriotic graphics as well. The Guild has mailed huge care packages to the troops overseas and is right now collecting either money to purchase supplies in bulk for a Christmas Care Package, as well as homemade Christmas stockings to send in the next Care Package. If you are interested in being a part of the Guild support, FReep Mail Hillary's Lovely Legs to get the address to send your donation or lists of items needed for the care package. They love children's art and children's letters.
